Re: OKFL - Part 2

Heard yesterday that Whor may have lost a couple, any truth, JB, Nonch????

I've heard Christian Jackson, Richard Jackson and maybe Rob Harrington could be gone, and Trev Vyner and Shane Wheeler (and maybe 1 or 2 others) could be considering retirement, so there are some quality players who are no certainties to return. Who have you heard?

Only heard that they were losing some, didn,t get any names Nonch. As you said though some big losses if they don't come back.....

Re: OKFL - Part 2

Hear he was at Warriors training last night knocking a few skulls together...

What about yourself TGN - see you've been lighting up the golf course...

Was a tad lucky Nonch.

Started on the 10th at Jubilee with a double, but then managed to reel off 7 straight pars. Hardly hit a GIR but the short game was on song.

Gotta take them when they're dropping.

Keen to get back with the oval ball this season though.

Re: OKFL - Part 2

rumours keep coming. Heard Doon may have added a couple more from Melb...JAM any truth ????

I havn't been down to training yet Slim so i'm not sure mate, I'm a bit of a "see who runs out round one" kind of guy anyway. You hear about all these guns coming to play with you but until they run out on the ground i dont get too excited.

Re: OKFL - Part 2

aker was rumoured to be playing one game with a club but deal has fallen through, also swanpool have signed ben cousins and the big fev even though he hasnt been sacked yet:D:D

All rumours Nonch i think Rob Harrington has moved away for work reasons but still might be back( Not 100% sure)! Richard Jackson has resigned and will definetly play as has Vyner and Christian along with a few others i believe.

Good to hear JB. Sounds like you boys should shape up alright then.

Re: OKFL - Part 2

Does anyone remember if the new clubs had to supply numbers to the league prior to the season begining......Heard last night 1 or 2 of them may be struggling. anyone know....

Re: OKFL - Part 2

Went passed Moyhu training last week and was told they have signed 5 young guys with very good talent and were all training well.
3 of them from Ovens & Murray, 1 a young guy returning to area and 1 from melbourne. O&M boys all under 20, boy from Melb early 20s but with good height and running ability, and guy returning to area very quick onballer/forward!
Good to see them recruiting some young players!

Re: OKFL - Part 2

Hey guys, has anyone heard what has been happening with fella Steer that Nth Wang signed as a coach? I heard a rrumble just before Christmas that he still hadn't been cleared by the maggies and that they have no intention in clearing him at all.

he'll be playing for Wang in the O&M or not playing at all from what I can gather.

Bit of a kick in the guts for the Hawks, might have been a bit premature with the press release! And what about the Aker drama, has that worked itself out yet?

Wouldn't blame the club, if Steer didn't have any intention of staying in the O and M for 2011 then don't sign a multiple year contract... pretty simple I would have thought.

I know circumstances may have changed since he signed but you've gotta grin and bear it.

make your bed, you sleep in it, if you will.

Who knows how it will turn out but Wang are sticking to their guns and fair enough too.

Mind you, with all these bull**** soft clearance laws nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if the VCFL forced Wang Maggies to let him go.

Last I heard Milawa were still somewhat confident that they'd get him and just wanted to keep it out of the papers so they could sort it out behind closed doors.

But it's safe to say that they're living in la la land if they think they'll get him, there is more chance of Michael Jordan lining up for the Demons next season than Aker.

Don't know what happened to start with but unfortunately I get the impression that somebody has taken Milawa for a serious ride and the club has come out looking like fools.

Not blaming the Maggies at all mate! I am with you on that one, a contract is a contract! The next question I suppose is if he doesn't get cleared does he still stay on as a non playing coach?

I will definately be keeping an eye out for the official result of that one! Thanks for the info!
My last intelligent question for you gentlemen is.........Whats happening with Glenrowan? I have heard there is a fairly large number of cattle that may be moving to greener pastures. Robbo to Blacks, Lappo to Greta, Ohlin to Wondonga, are among the names to be thrown around. Any truth to this and if so any inclusions worthy of a mention?

Heard there might be a couple more too....We'll have to wait and see I suppose, Feb 1 isn't that far away......

I was actually having this conversation yesterday Slim, from what I was told, Benalla, Nth Wang & Tarra are looking good, Greta have 14 and King Valley have 5. I am not sure about the rest of them and I wasn't aware that Tatong were pursuing thirds, would that effect your numbers?

Nah Pliz wouldn't affect our no's, the only thing affecting our no's this year is the bloody vcfl, trying to cap us at 22. Last year we had about 26 on the list but only ever had about 20 each week and we were able to help out opp sides in getting a team on the ground, otherwise there would have been lots of forfeits.

Tatong told the league they had enough kids but the vcfl had said no believing the couldn't sustain those no's in coming years. I heard they were going to fight it. Someone from Tatong may be able to help us out on that one.
