For the life of me I can't work out my preference for Tarra to have a win on Sat......Oh yeah, that's right....

BK, I suppose he'll be treated like "any other opposition player ".....pfft, or will someone have the job of chasing him around....Oh and show him all the respect that we dribblers from the country have and try not to step on the back of his head after he face plants in the sandpit...

Up at the Valley I think it will be pretty close, if Pige and Evo don't come up for there respective teams I'll go for the Valley by a couple of goals.. I reckon Sessho (x2) will be the diff....

We're going to go out there with the sole intent of ruining his day slim. Blokes will be lining him up in the center bounces and we'll be doing anything to get him out of the game, even if we have to go outside the rules :p:p:p

Nah in all seriousness, I dare say we will have someone running with him slim. But having said that, we can't forget that Milawa are a very good side so we will get slaughtered if we put too much focus on Aker. Will be interesting to see how players from both sides handle it.

Interesting game at milawa today, milawa clearly dominated tarra really lacking a few key position forward players..

That 's pretty comprehensive.....Tarra must be missing those retirees........
Did Akker make a big diff...

As i said before slim tarra really lacked some key forwards not so sure about the retirees... The ball was out of the forward line before you could blink an eye.. there was one point scott pell was playing on daniel hargraves miss match of the century so pell went forward and kicked a few goals..... Finton eames was at his best and played a awesome game

There was a few scruffs involving aker he was getting plenty of attention someone cleaned him up with what looked to be an elbow which left him on the ground for a while and groggy getting up.. umpires looked after him and were right on the whistle for everything!!

The cap wearers would have had bigger woodies than anyone :D:D:D, except Nonch who probably resembled Mr Squiggle in a lot of ways :p:p:p. That is if he was there of course...Joke Nonch, your free kick next time ;););)

Yeah I was there slim - I wasn't too excited though. Would have liked a close match.

Frustrating day from a Tarra perspective - butchered the ball badly in the first half when they had a bit more of it than Milawa. Like KIA mentioned, the lack of a marking forward outside of Rory O'Keeffe hurt, but the lack of pressure around the the ball hurt more. Also gave away a lot of 50m penalties for umpire abuse - at one stage Steve Burke got a free kick in the defensive 50m and was taken to within 25m of his attacking goal for the kick.

From Milawa perspective it was all good - Dan Lewis a standout with six goals and a number of assists. After him they were pretty even across the board. Great pressure, and used the ball very well, especially going into attack.

As for Aker - four goals but not a massive impact. Pretty sure it was Rory who cleaned him up - I thought it was just a shirtfront, but his forehead was very red after the match, so he was obviously hit high. Good on him for coming back on in the second half - it was a big hit!

Overall disappointing for Tarra, but remember they did the same thing to Milawa in rd 10 (I think) 2009 before the Dees knocked them off in the GF that year.

BK, two identical observations of the forward line. Did chopper play up there?

PS. did Razza receive a special award for his effort on Akker :D:D:D

Hmmm interesting article in the HS regarding Akers game - I hope nonch that your report is a bit more unbiased!!

Good on Razza not commenting on the incident. Was it as deliberate as the HS/Aker made out??

I did enjoy the humerous joke they put in there where Sims said that he would sort Razza out himself.....very funny joke to lighten the article.

From my viewpoint it just looked like a run of the mill shirtfront - I think Aker went overboard on the accusations of dirty tactics. But yeah, both the HS and BM have been pretty one-sided. In their defence Aker getting knocked out was the only real talking point to come out of the day. Still, implying that it was a deliberate ploy is a bit unfair. I sent Raz a text yesterday and he was pretty upset about the HS article.

Chopper mainly played on the ball slim, and had a rough time of it whenever he got a shot on goal - I think he kicked about 1.5, including one that was touched right on the line and a very un-Chopper-like fumble in the goalsquare when he was on his own.

My money would be on Raz.......:D:D:D

I doubt whether Sims would have the crackers to sort anyone out.
In fact I dont know if he could even sort out my sock drawer on washing day.

my two cents worth: Tarra looked like they lacked a couple of key forwards and are going to rely heavily on Chopper, Eames and Rory to kick a high percentage of their goals. I wonder if they will throw Barassi down forward again as he kicked 50 plus last year but has been playing as a sweeper this year so far.

Milawa looked pretty sharp with their use of the ball and with lewis, Sims, knackers and scholte in the FWD 50

Well said!!!

I wonder how many of them stayed for their own after match function - their away record is horrible!!!!

Just watched the WIN news highlights on the game.......looked like nothing out of any Saturday match......the one thing that stood out was the SOFT frees he was paid......

At the end of the day tarra could of stuffed milawas plans up by not turning up at all!! Would of been very funny and left milawa out of pocket and very red faced!!! Now by the looks of it cocky milawa have made heaps of money and will proberly try getting a few more players with the money that was made from the weekend... I think tarrawingee will not be happy at all with the publicitiy by aker and the milawa fellas.... they have gave the tarra blokes a bad name by saying they were dirty and the worst side aker has played against i would have to say they are one of the better sides in the league.. its disgraceful on there(milawas) behalf so from here on i hope every team in the o an k goes out there and polaxs the milawa blokes and make them earn there win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it will be interesting to see if the League stand up and defend tarra, after all the remarks made reflect on the standards within the league....yours Nonch..

Yeah already been on it all day today slim, and will have the full story in Wednesday's paper, along with a balanced report on the match.

My call = they will be spineless as usual

Having just caught up with all the Aker Circus, and it really is just that, a circus. It is all very disappointing but wholly expected. To think Milawa have paid for him to come and play. I would've expected Aker to at least try being an ambassador for AFL but all he has done is say that country footy is full of thugs! Interesting reading some of the comments of the Herald Sun article (online), particularly a Mr O&K from Whorouly.

In future lets hope that clubs who look into this type of thing actually look to hiring/buying ex-AFL players with decency (on & off-field) and a little credibility.

As to the other Easter match over the Valley way, heard it was a firey affair with a couple yellow cards in the last quarter. Anyone know more??
