O'Meara - who wants him?

Would you take O'Meara in the draft/PSD even though he's nominated Hawthorn?

I never said they wereent losing players, I said they were doing ok. Eg winning.

You lose a player, you do a trade. You dont sulk you get get on and replace them with somebody else.
Its not sustainable though. The ridiculous number of high draft picks the AFL threw at GWS is offsetting the players they are losing. Once they're back to 'normal' drafting if the rate players leave doesn't drop they're going to be in all sorts of trouble. Haven't seen any drop off yet.

Hoping that he nominates Essendon, just to be able to sit back and watch those two clubs trying to out-hardball each other for two weeks.

We seemed to do ok in the hardball trading stakes last season. Perhaps your club could take some lessons?

Maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that you'll likely meet your match this time.
Jaeger can literally go to the Dons for free. They don't even need to respond to GC. That's the hardest of balls and they hold all 52 cards

I'd love him at the Eagles but not at the price we'd have to pay.

We didn't have a first round selection last year because some genius traded it for Redden. The year before we had Duggan who looks good and then our next pick was Tom Lamb who looks like he'd rather be playing in the VFL. 2013 was fine, 2012 our first pick was pick 45 and he's clinging to his spot on the list only by virtue of there being too many other useless players we need to delist ahead of him. We only have one player from the 2011 draft still on our list and that's McInnes who also doesn't look to be up to standard.

Basically, we desperately need every pick we have and the only players they'd accept for him are ones we can't afford to lose because we've drafted so poorly the last 5 years.

Pass for mine. We aren't at the point in our rebuild where we can be taking risks with our first rounders on a player who could the next Anthony Morabito of always injured players.

Not that I want to see it, but if they play too hard to get there is always the threat of the PSD. I doubt it will come to that though. He'll get where he wants to go, but I doubt it'll be for two first round picks or a player as good as he was before his knee injury.

We got 28 from the Treloar pick and used it to help land Aish. Net of that the result is.....

Treloar and Aish for pick 7 and 2016 first pick and second pick

Fair trade but we definitelly didnt get them cheap. General consensus is that Treloar was a fair price and Aish a fraction overs.

IMO (which means SFA), Collingwood paid overs for Treloar. He is not worth 2 first rounders, a first + second/fringe player.

By the Pies doing this, other clubs have become delusional by comparing a deal where overs was paid and trying to get the same.

I'm not sure the stats back that claim up

The Saints have consistently had the smallest injury list and North play 18 30 year olds every week

The stats may not back up those views, but it's regularly heard from playing groups how recovery is longer and that players don't feel as fresh pulling up from an Etihad game..

I would actually like to see a player say "Hang on, if I'm uncontracted, why is a trade needed, or why do I need to be re-drafted? I'm already "in the system", it should be as simple as signing with another club."

Might actually accelerate the reform of the half-arsed and illogical system we have.

JOM will go to the highest bidder and nothing else really matters. The poor kid has buckled knees will be a short career. He needs insurance $$ as his career won't be that long.

I don't think he gives a shit what GC receive. Hes just spewing his career won't be what it should have been.
I don't blame the kid.
I just hope we don't invest too much in getting him.
