Paddy down to Wines, Wines handballs to O'meara, O'meara takes off, has a bounce, spots a player, throws it on the boot, Wiiinnnngaaarrrdddddd........Ohhh what a mark!! Wingard plays on...kicks...and kicks the goal...

Magnificent !!!

Hinkley has already ruled out Port trading for JOM, saying they aren't prepared to trade away their first rounder..

Has any one ever recovered from this type of injury?

It's utterly debilitating is my laymen understanding

Chris Knights had the same injury, ended up retiring

Wasn't quite as talented, probably didn't have as much money poured into recovery

These are uncharted waters

Do you have any facts to back up your claim that rfc went the cheap on his treatment, or are you just talking shit?

I believe Knights is the only guy in the AFL to do it. Quite a talented player in his own right who was playing some decent footy for Richmond before succumbing to it. Apparently his knee recovered but the surrounding areas of the leg kept breaking down.

From what I gather the injury is a lot more common in the NFL. I think all the NFL players who had their careers ended by it were all line-ball type prospects anyway.

Victor Cruz is the one that everyone is watching with interest. Sustained the injury almost 2 years ago and hasn't played another game since due to the surrounding areas of his leg continuing to break down. He is meant to be returning for his first game this week and from all reports is raring to go, so I think a lot will come down to how this guy performs as he was a star before the injury unlike many of the other guys who never fired a shot post-injury.

???

Wasn't really meant to be inflammatory, just speculating based on Chris Knights never really having a lot of hype surrounding him

He didn't have hype, but you don't deliver medical care based upon profile

Recruiting him would be the ultimate gamble. In general I would rather back the clubs development system than potentially burn valuable assets on an injury ravaged player.

Only clubs that need a cherry on top for a premiership should chase him eg Adelaide, West Coast, Geelong and Western Bulldogs. With North Melbourne officially rebuilding it should be a hard pass not that I think he'd be interested in pulling on the blue and white.

Are you aware of the fact that Hawthorn have won the last three premierships? Just want to make sure you're aware.
Go easy, he's very fragile.

Lachie Henderson, Zach Smith, tippet, Gunston , to an extent Dangerfield. Brian Lake earlier

I don't know if the Hawks were really "a contender" in 2011, especially compared to the Crows.

Surprised you didn't delete my post like you do with everything else that paints Hawthorn in a bad light
Cool story, hansel. I'm not a main board mod.

Plenty of Melbourne clubs are abysmally managed, but they don't have to fight the lure of returning home to family for 80% of their playing list

Abysmally? No. Its a lot harder to manage a St Kilda or WB than it is to manage Port Adelaide. Melbourne clubs are way more professional than the imposters.

Unfortunately they did in this instance.
Gold Coast spent $300,000 on medicals for Jom. Was sent to Germany as requested by Jom or his manager and it cost a bucket load.
The Suns are extremely peeved at him leaving. There was some serious words from some of the Suns players towards Jom when he told them he was leaving. They were not happy with the decision considering what the club had done for him.
The club also believe's hawthorn is the club he wants to go to.

I think Pick 1 in the PSD to Brisbane would be funny just for the lolz. Brisbane won't even hold pick 1 you'd suspect so its highly unlikely but hilarious if the cards fall that way.

As has been mentioned think his chosen destination is Victoria, his GF coming from there is a big reason but wants to be part of the Vic footy environment as well by the sounds of it.

and what did RFC fail to do with Knights treatment?

the OP basically implied we went the cheap on him unlike the GC with JOM

So I ask, where did we go cheap and short cut Knights rehab because he wasn't a high profile gun?

Wouldn't think we would be that interested in Jaeger especially when he's invested in going to Victoria rumors are that Stkilda could be that team they have the money and have been chasing a big fish went after Sloane last year and have been chasing Rockliff

Not saying it would happen but it would be funny if it did. Agree with your thoughts about St. Kilda being in the hunt, they've got the money to play with but majority of the 9 Melbourne based clubs (not including Geelong) would be lacking in there tasks as recruiters if they didn't inquire.

My opinion is he is shafting the Suns pretty hard considering that the club have supported him enormously and invested a lot of time and resources into him while he hasn't played a game of AFL for basically 2 years.
