O'Meara - who wants him?

Would you take O'Meara in the draft/PSD even though he's nominated Hawthorn?

Collingwood over paid for Treloar. They thought they'd play finals and the second round 1 pick would be further back.
Treloar is about as good as O'Meara and without the knee issues.
Anyone who pays anywhere near 2 first rounders or equivalent is insane or desperate.

Personally I think he's hoping for his retirement package. This is a guy who due to injury is seeing his career flash before his eyes and along with it his chance at the good life. Best financial decision for him is to play a few clubs against each other and hope to get a decent financial windfall on this contract in case he never gets back on track.

I would hope that in the event he does come good that he rewards the club who takes the risk by being a long and loyal servant.

O'meara is ahead of treloar if fit. Don't get me wrong treloar is a gun but a fit o'meara is a class above

"absoloute domination in the 80s."

Best performed club of 80s would actually indicate the reality of it.
Absolute domination we all know is bollox.
Do not pick on Melbourne supporters by the way.;)

I would happily replicate our success of the 80s to be the 2nd most successful club of an era

St Kilda are the logical fit, or maybe Melb or the pies.

You need a club who have completed the majority of a rebuild so can afford to gamble on him.

To me this rules out Carlton, Richmond, North and Essendon

Pies don't have a first round pick which makes it almost impossible to do a trade.

He dosnt want to go to a club to be a savior ala Judd @ Carlton.
He wants to go to a club at the top.
He will be at the Hawks IMO

He wants to go to a club that will be able to work medical miracles or pay him plenty of cash. The former is preferable but the latter is the only one he has control over.

Enlighten

Hawthorn sign four veterans on reduced salary's (Hodge, Mitchell, Burgoyne, Gibson) to clear significant cap space, force Lake into retirement despite the fact that he wanted to go on, keen to move on Brad Hill at the end of this year even though he's contracted 2017. Hawthorn have been into O'Meara for well over 12 months.

I saw a Brian Lake interview that was on AFL website last week. When he was asked about O'mera he said he believed he would go to a team that plays at the MCG because of his knees and stated "you pull up much sorer playing at Etihad."

if that's the case he should take the massive coin from the suns, never play a game, retire and be paid out based on his suns contract.

he wont get near what they are offering down here so if he retires off a "vic" club contract he's cost himself significant $$.
