I reckon he would go to the National Draft before he went to the PSD for that exact reason.Luckily he'll be sent to us with open arms at pick 1 of the PSD if a trade doesn't get done
I don't see how its fair that now we are forced to trade with hawthorn
Thought that was only the ND.he can nominate contract terms so he can yes but with his injury history i doubt he is going to be too keen to jump around clubs.
And risk for an interstate side to pick him up? He wants to play in Melbourne so that's what he'd do.I reckon he would go to the National Draft before he went to the PSD for that exact reason.
I think it's unlikely that Fremantle, Brisbane, Port or the GC would do it. Partially because they have picks that are too good to drop on a kid with knee history, and partially because there is a very real risk then that he would refuse (and fair enough). And risk for an interstate side to pick him up? He can nominate contract terms for either draft.Thought that was only the ND.
Was my understanding he has to have a 2 year contract if he goes via PSD
If he refuses he's not playing for 2 years.I think it's unlikely that Fremantle, Brisbane, Port or the GC would do it. Partially because they have picks that are too good to drop on a kid with knee history, and partially because there is a very real risk then that he would refuse (and fair enough).
Beside the point, but that is a pretty schisen thing to do to a young bloke who wants to come home.If he refuses he's not playing for 2 years.

Home? He's from WA.Beside the point, but that is a pretty schisen thing to do to a young bloke who wants to come home.

If he goes to the PSD, puts $800K x 2 years on his head, nobody except Hawks will pick him. That's why the PSD threat is weak.I think it's time for someone to screw over Hawthorn for once. GC make a statement. Hawthorn go and entice him 12 months in advance, so he continues using GC's resources and facilities knowing that he wants to go to the 3-peaters. Either take a deal too good to refuse or trade him to a club that wants to give you enough. If not, don't trade him and send him to the PSD (where he will definitely not get 800K).
But the likely scenario is that GC will cave in and accept unders
as someone who's a fan of a football club that signed dale thomas to a big deal in the hope that he'd get back to where he was pre-injury, at this point i can only put my walter white hat on advise clubs like hawthorn to tread carefullyProbably any pick around between about 5 and 8, or two picks under about 15 IMO. Yes he has done a knee, but before that he was effectively first pick in his draft and then picked up a Rising Star gong.
Josh Gibson came to Hawthorn the season we finished 9thSurprise, surprise, surprise!!!
Who would have thought it O'Meara has chosen Hawthorn.
As Josh Gibson, as Lake and as Jack Gunston did.
Yes, equalisation works well. It works extremely well, for the top clubs that is.
Top talent walks out of crap clubs (Eg Henderson) to go to top clubs.
The pattern continues. I nominate....let me see...should I go to Hawthorn and get a flag, or should I go to Collingwood and be coached by Nathan Buckley.
Such hard decisions.
Wrong. If Hawks offer up next to nothing, then Gold Coast would sacrifice that and send him to the PSD just to send a message.Won't end up in the PSD, Suns can demand whatever they want and then on the final day the Hawks will offer up pick 67 and Litherland and the Suns will go home with their tail between their legs. Hawks and JOM have all the power as they know the PSD threat is all bluff
He can choose either. Why wouldnt he go in the national draft ?
