AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Seems like the afc exists to reward good blokes, rather than win Premiership nowadays.
Can you imagine if blighty was coach...
Kept another Victorian! What culture problem? That is hilarious.
Didn’t a few people on here claim he was looking at other options?
Did we convince him to stay?
Anyway, whatever, AFC have no balls and no desire to be anything more than a cosy little self interest club.
He's also as fragile as they come mentally and physically, when he sees a collision he visualizes it as if a train were about to floor him. It takes far more than it should to force him out the side because the club overrates him.
His BnF results for a veteran have to be the worst ever for a 200 gamer. This announcement is just a friendly reminder the AFC has no balls.
First World Problems.
David Mackay gets a one year contract at the AFC.
Compared to some of the manure you post? That is an absolute truck load of manure and you know it.
A youngster has had absolutely no chance to force Mackay out of the side in the past few years, none because it isn't a matter of a marginal best 22 player holding a spot temporarily. This is a terrible footballer (I wouldn't even call Mackay adequate depth) who has lucked out by the coaches having a disconnect between his performance in the best 22 and his worth. After all it's certainly not difficult to replace a marginal piece.
We treat him like he's been a permanently under performing top 10 player when really his performance is befitting of someone who is an SANFL level winger at best.
No way Cheney. Otten definitelyI honestly thought we'd give him his 200 games and then send him on his way. I was wrong. This spells the end for Cheney and Otten, me thinks.
The irony is that Neil Craig actually used to let go of the older players eg Torney Hart Bassett
Don't mind him on the list just shouldn't be in the side as regular as he is when we at close to full strength
That is the problem , he's best 42 quality so no prob with 1 yr deal but he's not best 25The thing that shits me the most is that he is an automatic lock for selection in the same ilk as say Sloane, Gibbs and Mrouch are.

I'm still trying to work out who the youngsters are that have been knocking the door down this year to replace him that could fill his role in the team? The irony is that Neil Craig actually used to let go of the older players eg Torney Hart Bassett

Mack is back in town!Thread shoulda been called Return of the Mack
If only that were trueWhat's the problem, ultimate professional and excellent depth, it's up to the youngsters to force him out of the AFL side with performance.
Can you recall the game earlier this year when Milera despite showing promise at half back was shunted to the forward line to accommodate Mackay in defence? What's the problem, ultimate professional and excellent depth, it's up to the youngsters to force him out of the AFL side with performance.
I think of all of Galluci seed smith MileraI'm still trying to work out who the youngsters are that have been knocking the door down this year to replace him that could fill his role in the team?
McPherson - injured and in the rehab ward most of the year
Signorello - only recently has he really started putting his hand up and having not been re-signed yet may have had his papers stamped
Wilson - Maybe but his short/medium kicking isn't AFL standard and not too sure about his decision making under a bit of pressure either on what I've seen in the Snaffle, did little at his only AFL game, 79% T.O.G., 12 disposals, 3 Clangers, 48m gained.
Who have I missed that could fulfill his role?

No disagreement with me there, but I'm talking this year when we've not had Smith until now, Seedsman for big stretches, Riley Knight for big stretches etc etc. I'm confident he'll be depth if all said players are available, if not however he could be next man up depending on McPherson coming up and how ready our new draftees are.I think of all of Galluci seed smith Milera
Atkins are playing Dmac shouldn't
Prob need another wing slash high forward to replace him - Rozee ?
Mack is back in town!
If DMack didn’t play next year would we miss him? There’s your answerNo one could possibly replace him. No one has pushed him out
But somehow the other 17 clubs are surviving without him
Wigg has more AFL traits than WilsonMilera
Its no coincidence that Milera has starred in the absence of David. Lets see how this plays out on his return
On Wilson , maybe the fact he only got 1 game is more on the club and not him. Do you really expect every debutant to come in and shine? And a reminder that Gallucci also didnt 'shine' in the SANFL. Maybe that form isnt the best to be assessing players.
