It just doesn't make any sense

That is an absolute truck load of manure and you know it.

A youngster has had absolutely no chance to force Mackay out of the side in the past few years, none because it isn't a matter of a marginal best 22 player holding a spot temporarily. This is a terrible footballer (I wouldn't even call Mackay adequate depth) who has lucked out by the coaches having a disconnect between his performance in the best 22 and his worth. After all it's certainly not difficult to replace a marginal piece.

We treat him like he's been a permanently under performing top 10 player when really his performance is befitting of someone who is an SANFL level winger at best.

Don't mind him on the list just shouldn't be in the side as regular as he is when we at close to full strength

The thing that shits me the most is that he is an automatic lock for selection in the same ilk as say Sloane, Gibbs and Mrouch are.

That is the problem , he's best 42 quality so no prob with 1 yr deal but he's not best 25

He just needs to have another vanilla year next year and he will come close to being a 250 game player for the AFC, as he will likely be offered another 1 year contract.

McPherson - injured and in the rehab ward most of the year
Signorello - only recently has he really started putting his hand up and having not been re-signed yet may have had his papers stamped
Wilson - Maybe but his short/medium kicking isn't AFL standard and not too sure about his decision making under a bit of pressure either on what I've seen in the Snaffle, did little at his only AFL game, 79% T.O.G., 12 disposals, 3 Clangers, 48m gained.

Who have I missed that could fulfill his role?

Let’s get real here, if he genuinely had somewhere to go he wouldn’t have stayed if he thought he was going to be a back up. So he either had no options or he’s considered first choice, either way it’s pretty damming.

Atkins are playing Dmac shouldn't

Prob need another wing slash high forward to replace him - Rozee ?

No disagreement with me there, but I'm talking this year when we've not had Smith until now, Seedsman for big stretches, Riley Knight for big stretches etc etc. I'm confident he'll be depth if all said players are available, if not however he could be next man up depending on McPherson coming up and how ready our new draftees are.
