Sell big pakets of Teh Tarik in Indo Laguna supermarket Q.V. centre SOS 👍
Don't tell me that Hoj. I don't drink tea with milk. I have had it three times in my life. Once my Grandmother made me a milky tea when I was about 3, once I stayed at a friend's place when I was about 15 and his Grandmother made me one and at a bus stop on the way to Malaca.

I didn't drink any. I like non-milk tea only.

I went down a water slides and my **** fell out lol

We met 2 nice girls over mushies one night in Bali, 1983. Went for late night drinks at a hotel pool bar. They would only sell us drinks if we ordered in our birthday suits. No worries 👍 Cicely and her sister from Qld. Turned out to be a good night.

Back in 1985 my girlfriend at the time now wife and I were in Bali I hired a motorcycle without getting a license from the locals, going for ride to Kuta one day we got stopped by the police with big guns, they asked my wife something in indo because my wife is ABC they thought she was a local then she said “what“ in an Aussie accent, they asked for my license when I said I didn’t have one they told me I was in big trouble and needed to pay a fine at the police station the next day in the morning, but they were very nice men because they said if I pay them now I didn’t need to go to the police station in the morning, now I love a bargain and I thought how nice these police officers were so I paid them the equivalent to $25 a lot of money back in 85.

they let us continue on our trip, on the way back we noticed they were still there we turned around and went back to our hotel a different way.

I was nearly shot by a tank during military suppression of a civil uprising in La Paz. I was riding in a UN vehicle when a silly Dutchman sitting next to me took a photo of the tank. The flash went off and the turret of the tank spun around to focus on us. Fortunately, the only explosion that occurred was in my underpants.

The poor kids face as he’s just had a big whiff of your BO
they were our guides who took us to see the fairy stream, we thought we were gonna get hustled by them but it turns out these kids moon lighted as guides when school was out, and the fairy stream was real and pretty impressive as seen by these links but at the time anyone could jsut rock up. the point was that we never knew they were there,

from memory they prolly charged us a couple of thousand vietnamese dong to point out the little gorge to us.

and as for any BO, it would have been undetectable over the smell of the fish sauce factory by the entrance!

Currently in Nha Trang, 2 weeks into a 3 week trip. Been mainly on the well beaten tourist track but it’s been brilliant.

Cruising Ha Long Bay is a must. Sa Pa also great.
did or are you looking to go across to monkey island for the performing dogs and monkey show?

truly one of the most bizarre things i have ever seen,

Best spots, things to do. Not necessarily typical tourist areas.

4 or 5 times, its great , my tip if you go to how long bay pay for the evtra night because most of the people rush back to the port and on the changover day they load you to a smaller boat and you get to discover to further out less crowded spots.

I think that if you went to Viet Nam you would end up doing a few touristy thigs - it's kind of necessary to visit the museums (all types, including war, cultural and archaeological), and in Hanoi you'd spend time in the old city plus make a visit to Uncle Ho himself at his mausoleum. Somebody recently showed my pictures of Cat Ba island on Ha Long bay - I didn't recognise the place due to the hotels that were there now compared to in the mid-90s but I still think that's a worthwhile place.

I dislike Top Gear intensely but their 2008 special did show a lot of the country so here's a link to the episodes on Youtube (part 15 features Ha Long Bay)...

When we were there it was possible and far less expensive to buy "tours" to various destinations from the local travel agents such as Sinh cafe. I'd research if those places still operate before splashing out on any tours through an Australian travel agent where you will pay through the nose.

The trip to Sapa, almost on the Chinese border to the north was becoming a trope even in the 90s but as much as that's the case, I'd go there again any time. We went by bus - the train is an alternative. Sapa is in the mountains and we timed our visit to align with the monthly market where rural people from all over come into town to sell produce - I made the mistake of taking a photo of a small pig that was trussed up in bamboo strips and the farmer insisted that meant I had to buy it. He chased me around for about 20 minutes trying to make me pay for the pig.
