After paying close attention to NFL this season I noticed ACL injuries are very common in that code also.

Humans need to evolve and grow stronger ligaments, if not just for my fantasy football sanity.

What?

There is a 50% chance of doing an ACL on the other leg within 12 months??

In the dog world, mate! Not sure how that translates to the human world; perhaps 7 years? Don't forget that this refers only to the genetic, innocuously-induced ACL snapping, not to perhaps the more usual traumatically-induced accidents.

I'm sure it doesn't help when the NFL has players wearing helmets diving at speed at other players' knees. Similarly, getting jumped on from your blind side by a 130kg guy wouldn't be great on your body either. I'm surprised more QBs aren't injured by someone sacking them without knowing the hit is coming.

It's a suspend-able offence in the NFL to go at players knees. I don't think it's done any more, players are ostracized for such acts now a days.

Gutted for this kid. He seems to be on the path of what could have been, I'm crossing my fingers he can somehow come back from this and realise his potential, but it's not looking good.
