This is basically what I'm against, the coaching attitudes and positions towards play styles that will change to suit the potential rule change. The thing itself may mean that these bombs out over centre will mean CHF's have to have even more importance and there'll be more room in the forward 50 for re-entries.
Still, since it's a fairly major shake-up, it probably won't happen without extensive testing.
Agree.
I suspect this great new paradigm will be completely blunted when there's only 5 or 6 kick outs per game.
Teams won't try the risky shots.
And how desperate will teams be to rush behinds? What an advantage if you can knock it thru then launch a bomb over the centre.
GWS flog on the radio saying new rules won’t suit Richmond at all , only suit GWS and Melbourne because they have the most skilled players and Richmond don’t have many lol FMD
And because the giant novelty sized square is so giant you can rush from anywhere now without being penalised.
just one step closer to till channel 7s dream of being able to kick goals from a full back kick in.
cant put add breaks in during behinds
NOT TRUE!!! If you make the goal square long enough, by the time a behind has been scored and the full back kicks out there could be enough time to squeeze in one of those tennis style quick adds!!
Perhaps this was the real plan after all!!!
LOL @ The Front Bar...so funny just crack me up! Had tears in my eyes from laughing so much...
An observation...TFB is the Richmond of current footy shows cos they enjoy what they are doing and are good at it!
You realise that Dusty's goal last week will be coached out of the game?
Any risky shot won't be taken. Penalty for kicking a point means the ball gets bombed over the centre. Especially when it's tight but generally this will disappear from the game.
Defences will clog up the inside 50 corridor because that's the only spot attackers will want to shoot from.
So we'll get significantly fewer spectacular goals from the boundary, or anything greater than a 45 degree angle.
Which will lead to fewer shots in total, which leads to lower scores.
Is that what we want?
AFL and the yes men can only focus on the kickouts...NFI about the unintended consequences.
Why the hell am I going through and reading 20 pages of this.
i was at last years, 37 years in the making..Like you were ever gonna go anyway.

LOL i just saw the vision hahahahahahaha they got all that from the footpath on punt road and declare it's a scare and Dusty was behind the fence. hahahahahahaha LOL
I'll still go, but I'll sit up the back of Level 4 with a bag of popcorn laughing at how their rule changes have done nothing to solve congestion or make the game "better"Irrespective if we win the flag or not the afl can shove their 18m goal square up their arse. I won’t be going next year if that comes in. They can GAGF.
