Gale has stated we're trying to follow the Geelong model and remain a perennial contender
May sound like semantics but our model is original. Completely our own.

Yes, staying in contention every year is something Geelong have done and something we would like to emulate but the method, or model are not the same.

While I’m not convinced that Geelong has traded in much talent this year, the emphasis on youth is a shift for them and if anything, they are adopting our model.

We've made finals in 8 of the last 10 years, oppos are dreaming if they think we'll go back to being the rabble we were up until 2010.

Saints are nuts trying to bring Ross Lyon back, closest he got to any success was with a game plan that's so outdated it's now the complete opposite of what teams are doing. Game now couldn't be any further from his nature.

No chance he's coming in with some amazing attacking game plan tailored to 2023. Combine that with him being a huge stubborn campaigner that won't make any changes when his defensive crap fails odds are they end up sacking him within a year or two.

Who ever says umps don’t change games is deluded and who ever says umps aren’t biased against us is also deluded , nothing more surer that it is .
unfortunately for us RFC supporters and the majority of aussie rules followers this is not only true but Fact and i think its a timely reminder that despite
the RFC having blazed this trading period, its still in the hands of the corrupt AFL on how things will transpire on the field to a massive degree.
despite us being so well run on and off, especially off the field, that we're the envy of almost every other organisation, theres still this unknown factor
of what the AFL will drum up to stifle a competitor/powerhouse such as the RFC,this always concerns me,we are not playing on a level playing field thats for sure, the AFL like to give the illusion we are but we are most definitely not

Also we are not bringing in 30 plus year olds only exception was tarrant but that was a need to replace astbury which has worked out ok

Personally I’ve really enjoyed him in the media. Gives an analysis of strategy and coaching insights that are really hard to find in the AFL media landscape.

Unlike say a malthouse who’s clearly just a bitter old man, or most ex players who seem to struggle to form sentences.
Media he is ok but as a coach I never sa anything good about him... never a fan, yes he did take a freo team to the GF but the saints teams were great and should've won 1

Introduce a dodgy new rule just long enough for the cats to take advantage and then reverse it.
Sounds about right...
Yeah typical the afl wanting to change the rule since geeflog took advantage of it when are other afl clubs going to take a stand against afl giving Geelong always a leg up I’m sick of it we fought for our 3 flags these tossers get rules made for them to stop certain teams and why wasn’t the contract honoured for the 2 years not ****ing 4 years that’s how it’s should have always been Bowes is a dickhead for taking that deal

You think a team with

Gardiner (the broken version)
Steven King (also broken version)
Andrew McQualter
Zac Dawson
Brett peake
Robert eddy
Steven baker
Jason gram
Jason blake
Farren Ray
Sean Dempster
Clint Jones
Raph Clarke

Should have a won a premiership?

Personally some of my strongest memories of the 2013 season is the Freo team and the purple wave of pressure footy they played especially in finals. Feel like it was a precursor to what became tiger footy in 2017.

Totally agree.

What Gale actually said is that we’re using the experiences of Hawthorn and Geelong to mould our list into not being just a contender but to be successful.

The team at the Tigers would be fully aware that Geelong is now facing a period of decline because of their continuing top ups with older players and ignoring the draft for so long, I’m not sure it’ll be as spectacular as Hawthorns fall but it’ll be damn close.

And as far as this trade period is concerned, one Swallow doesn’t make a Summer.

Which club is more of a basket case:
(A) no culture Bummers
(B) no rudder Saints
(C) turning #1 picks to poo Norf
(D) give away 1st round pick for free Suns
(E) May premiers Carlton

If we were like Hawthorn, we'd have traded out of an entire draft to get Taranto, like Hawthorn traded out of the entire 2016 draft to get O'Meara.

I still can't believe Hawthorn traded out of a whole draft to get O'Meara, let alone allow themselves to get bent over by Gold Coast of all clubs. It's not like O'Meara was contracted either.

Collingwood, who botched their chance at sustained success after 2011, when it was looking very likely they'd begin a dynasty after winning the 2010 premiership.
that pies team was one of the worst premiership teams of all time, list was full o spuds and hacks, nick maxwell, leigh brown, toovey (lol) , countless others

they needed 2 goes to beat the aints the worst club of all time that never win flags

I didnt for a second think they were gonna have a dynasty after they won in 2010. I thought they were farken lucky and it wouldnt happen again

Sydney (2 wins 5 losses) and Collingwood (2 wins 1 draw 4 losses) are the biggest grand final chokers in the modern era.

Geelong are lucky they got to play Sydney and Collingwood in grand finals, oh and St Kilda and Port Adelaide before that too.

pies premiership history is a joke compared to ours

pretty much all of their flags were won when they didnt even hand out premiership cups

they had to have the majority of the cups made up just recently

13 of their 15 cups had to be handed out retrospectively by the AFL so their trophy cabinet wouldn't be a joke.
