If the team plays without spirit or purpose for half a season then something major is not right.

The something that isn't right is just probably some mixture of some players injured that we cannot cover, our usual early season mediocrity, and some game plan issues trying to work out how best to incorporate our two new midfielders. We only need to start holding our own from now then get on a 5-6 win roll at any stage of the season and we will be playing finals. We won 4 on the spin twice last year from around this stage of the season. We would probably need to extract a rabbit from a hat in the way we cover Lynch to do something like that again. Hopefully the club is working on that plan right now.

So I watch this show for coverage of issues.

Tasmania, AFL CEO jobs and Brendan leaving is an issue; New president; drafting, trading are issues when we don't perform on field. Playing so poorly. A lot of injuries - maybe too many to save the season.

Reckon clubs need to be smart enough to draft for loyalty and commitment as much as talent, especially with such a precious pick.

IIRC, they could have picked up two loyal top-10 150+ game players by trading down that #1 JHF pick. Surely they had some sense he was luke warm about being there - at the very least they knew the risk of taking an SA kid.

Between those things and the disastrous coaching machinations, IMO they really did bring it on themselves.
