You have no idea. I’ve encountered a few of their supporters on here that have a real hatred towards us. Most likely stems back to a few years ago when we were not very good, had a negative W/L record against most clubs over a period of years but were something like 5-1 against Fremantle. How they lost some of those clashes (Murphy, Newnes goals) didn’t help the overall Freo supporter psyche. Acres and Cerra both leaving to come to our club. “Stealing” Motlop from under their noses. Last years controversial win didn’t help at all.

Actually, maybe I am starting to understand why they hate us.

But it's not actually caring that they hate us, is the key here.

If they did win that trade, it's the only thing they've beaten us at since 2019, except once in r6 2022.
Their "hatred" towards us is really only recent and it's primarily due to the fact we've beaten them 7 of the last 8 times we've played them, since 2019.
That's a lot of beatings in recent times.
I live in Perth and quite recently in the suburb of Melville, which is close to Freo and very much a Freo "area", so have lived and worked with them for years.

I reckon he's probably 1-2 years away from a breakout season. He'll be a contributor until then but not set the world on fire.

Freo fans also have a bizarre hatred of Cripps. Something about roughing up Brayshaw and Serong when they were younger but they genuinely hate him.

I guess that's what happens when you've been cellar dwellers for ur entire existence.

You’re forgetting in 2019; SOS placing an early bid on Liam Henry (to buy some time in arranging a trade with GC).

The bid came earlier than expected for them and put them into points deficit, which they still moan about.

I don't want them to win a flag, but I don't want any team other than my own to win one.

I certainly don't see Freo vs Blues and think 'yes, I hope we smash those flogs'.
I just think that it should be a good game.

From memory (which is very sketchy) he was really well rated in his junior year then fell down the rankings due to not playing much. Possibly due to injury. I think it was a case of I can't believe he was still there.
