as you state, it's a short career, so percentage wise it's looks good, but that's the problem with smaller sample sizes right? If he doubled his games and doubled the 4 goals or more stat then it would be noteworthy.

More important is recent form in recent years and he's done naff all.

Handy pick up and has a positive up side, also fits in well with the team, but he and Motlop are battling for the same spot in the side at this stage for mine.

Motlop kicked 3 goals against a very good defensive side in a cut throat final two games ago. So he's ahead.
Yeah I agree with a bit of this, though I don't have either of these guys in my best 22 next year. I'd rather Williams play off the bat and we get Houston in to the mid which pushes Pep/Rozee in to those F/HF roles.

I'm just saying that in a vacuum it's a very impressive stat. Shows that if we can get him right he could be a serious asset as 4 goals are game winning numbers (I've said all along the chances of us getting him back there is why we've overpaid)

Motlop could go if Farrell & Woodcock perform well though it's not like we haven't dropped him before.

We have real pressure on this. I don't have Farrell, Woodcock, OF or Mots starting next year...

B McKenzie Jonas Hammer
HB DBJ Burton Aliir
C Duursma Wines Amon
HF Rozee Marshall Butters
F Williams Dixon Pep
R Boak Slyce Houston

Bench: Ladhams, Clurey, Rocky, Gray

If Fantasia is fit he'll play round 1 don't kid yourself.

Orazio would need a stinking first month of the 2021 season to get dropped they'll let him settle in.
Yes, I agree with this. I know how the club operates, and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

It's not what I would do though. I would give OF a chance to come through the SANFL, find form and understand our structures, and force his way in to the team by kicking bags at state level.

Houston isn't the mid we need.

Rozee could be. He needs to be given that midfield opportunity.

I don't think he's battling for Motlop's spot in the side. I think he takes Ebert's spot in the side. Very different players obviously but he fills the same basic position and we didn't give up pick 29 and a third rounder to have him starting in the ressies.
Give him Eberts number, make him watch his tapes all Summer and tell him thats the standard of courage and work ethic that is required.

An Ebert with Fantasias goal sense would be some player.

Williams needs to do that more than an experienced player we traded in.

The query with Fantasia that has been stated many times by everyone always has been wether or not we can get him over his soft tissue injuries. If you go into the AFL app and search up a player they have cut down videos of every involvement from every game. It’s a long time ago but if you look at his 2017 games his influence not only on the game but essendons game style is significant. The club obviously believes that we they can get him fit and back to that form otherwise they wouldn’t have even looked at him. I firmly believe that for what we paid it is worth a shot.

Literally every word you quoted me on is factually correct until proven otherwise.

Also I’ve shown less disdain for orazio, and more disdain for the grass is greener brigade that have knifed Motlop all year long (with fairly valid reason) to bleat on about how he’s going to be made redundant by orazio, blind to the fact that motlop (while poor) has been the better player lately

It’s not orazios fault Taylor’s crappy calling style made him an overrated household name who wouldn’t be known if he was drafted by port.

It’s not orazios fault people hold him to a standard he’s made once in his career. He seems like a nice enough bloke and has some skills.

my expectations are based on the reality of his output over the last several years and I hope he exceeds that, but if he turns in several more 10 game seasons I’ll hardly be shocked. Our best bet is our training standards have some influence on his body which looks like he’s done fu** all since coming into the league and that in turn helps him. Other than that port doesn’t have a magic wand to wave.
Very poor comment on so many levels .. I will leave it at that.

Can't see Raz playing Ebert's role he is more a deep forward than a high half forward I would think.

Not sure I agree with that. His best footy was played linking up and using pace to get back to goal. He seems to be very good on the lead for such a small player.
Possibly but we have played a mid in this position due to the huge work rate needed? But I do see your point in using his pace👍

Like every small crumbing forward in the history of football, yes.

I'd prefer it if he spent more timing rucking in the backlines when he's not kicking goals.

Ebert was also an elite tackler, not one of those run at opposition like a headless chook (Neade and Gray cough), we don't have that replacement.
Yeah, but if he can hit the side of a barn that'll compensate. At times Ebo made Hans Moleman look like he had 20/20 vision in comparison.

He made the occasion bad decision, but his skills were fine. Was a reliable shot at goal.

The knocks on Ebo have always been a bit overstated IMO. I think he's a better kick than Boak.

We will genuinely miss his hardness around the contest. Fantasia has a lot of work to do to get anywhere near him in regards to overall output and contribution to the team.

I know highlights can be misleading but wow this kid has some goal sense.
We are going to be entertained in the yrs to come if we can get him right definitely a risk worth taking in my opinion.
