No hatred, just wants to move on from being head of footy into a CEO role. Same reason Leppitsch has moved on from line coaching despite being regarded as one of the best in the industry. Just wanting a change in role from what they've been doing for decades.
Doesn’t explain why he’d go to such a real shitheap though.

Because the "sabbatical" reason never really made sense to me?

He only JUST got to Collingwood after being at Hawthorn for what, nearly 15 years?

Then right after winning a Premiership in only his 3rd year in the role he wants to leave? We didn't talk about the possibility of a larger role? Higher role? Nothing?

Just..."I want out"

"No no don't leave, take a break and come back"

"Ok I took my break, I want out"

Nah, it never felt right. Doesn't surprise me it happened at the end of the first season after Kelly got there

yes, but why would Carlton speaking to him make him leaving us even more suspect that it was before they spoke to him? he was always going to end up somewhere, either another club or the AFL.

Wright must have a bit of a malicious streak. He came to us to watch Eddie's demise and kill off his lieutenaants: Guy, Bucks and whoever was running fitness at the time and he knows that he'll get to do a heap of blood letting at Carlol land.

Why is the highly regarded Brian Cook leaving after such a short time at the Blues.

Wasn’t he looking for a more senior role? Such as…….club CEO!!

What other more senior roles at the Club were there above what he was currently doing?

Implicit in Wright being considered for his job.
Cook signed on until the end of 2025, so presumably Carlton is looking at candidates for their next CEO now, who will replace Cook at the end of next season.

4 years as CEO seems to me to be a relatively reasonable tenure for a CEO of a footy club.

Ah it's the guy who constantly shits on Nick.

Anyone else find the mass exodus at GWS odd?

Makes me wonder what Kingsley is like behind closed doors

It's not like fringe players struggling to get a game are wanting to leave. It's first 23 players requesting to leave at a time when they're contending.
I wouldn't read anything into it. Mid tier players are getting massive pay rises.

I still don’t understand what business acumen the has to be a CEO?
He has no experience whatsoever.
A footy boss is completely different to the CEO position.

Anybody taking him on as CEO IMO would be completely stupid.

Mostly fringe players I reckon.

Also, more likely to do with playing AFL in Western Sydney. Bigger crowds in the VFL
