The AFL has decided to keep the sub for next season despite calls to scrap it in favour of a five-man bench.
The Herald Sun understands the league sent a memo to clubs on Wednesday confirming there would be no major changes to the rules of the game or the bench set-up in 2025.

There was a minor tweak to allow a non-controlling umpire to call advantage at centre bounces and a move to bounce the ball rather than throw it up after a six-six-six warning.

But the AFL is adamant the game is in great shape and has decided to keep all major rules in place despite speculation about reducing the goal kicking shot clock to 20 seconds.

The league confirmed it would continue to monitor areas of the game such as the interchange cap, double goal free kick locations, deliberate rushed behinds, the stand rule and umpire contact among other issues.

Proves fans are ****n stupid people influenced by a stupider media

Nobody voted for Port, despite them (fun fact) finishing top 4 in 4 of the last 5 seasons.

Even Port fans hate Port.

Nick Daicos has polled Brownlow votes in 34 games (from 65 H&A games - 52.3%): https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/N/Nick_Daicos.html

Gary Ablett jnr. played 332 H&A games, polling votes in 122 (36.7%) : https://afltables.com/afl/stats/players/G/Gary_Ablett1.html
I don't think we can realistically hope for it to be sustained over his career, but right now Nicky D's Brownlow polling is in a league of its own. He is averaging 1.18 votes per game. There is only one other player in HISTORY going at better than 1, that's Haydn Bunton at 1.04 per game over a 119 game career. Then Graham Moss at 0.95, Cripps next at 0.92.

He's looking in worse condition than at the start of pre-season.

This is the type of other club news I like.
Couldn't give a flying about their best 22s etc.
The more negative the better.
PS: Oliver could be just bad posture, (or good pasture)🤔

Anyone else hearing Curnow has injured his knee?
Posted these articles on Saturday ⬇️

Found this on the Dee's thread underneath that pic 🤣 :

"Oliver is just amazing, given his conditioning. Has raw power, tackles well and just finds the ball as we all know. A huge watch in the next 6-8 weeks. I think if he doesn't lose at least the 6-7kg in that time frame then it's going to really shape our season such is his impact on our 22. McVee helped him put his jumper on because it's soo tight and not even a word was spoken by either of them which was sort of funny. Almost like it was a routine."

Geez, the Cats are on a run: Aiken's hospitalizes 3 in car crash whilst DUI, Selwood involved in a shady deal with club financial backers who allegedly orchestrated an NDIS fraud scheme, Ray Card involved in fatal car accident, Tanner Bruhn questioning by police .....

And that's only the stuff we've been told about..

The Stengle incident was quickly swept under the carpet.

Haven't heard anymore about Scott's 2nd job & whether that was ticked off by the AFL.

Don't want to be that person, but can you imagine if this was us?

According to some in the media, we're in crisis because of a few off field departures which we've pretty much filled already with quality replacements 🥴

It's Geelong so we'll just get the usual from the media.

That Stengle bullshit pissed me off big time. If that was a Pies players the ambulance chasing, picked on in high school, dork journos would have crucified him. Stengle got a cuddle from the media instead. Piss poor double standards
