Hence why all the cocky Pies fans who are super confident of a GF appearance and even wanting Carlton are absolutely being blind sided.

GWS literally is going to hammer Pies midfield with their clearance getters.

Your are joking, right? Granted very good midfield, but we have more grunt and can match their class also.

Watching them play I'm thinking they are in with a very good chance against us. Can't see Port winning from here.

They look brilliant with their run and quick hands. I think we match up well on their forwards. Moore on Hogan, Murphy/Howe on Riccardi, Maynard on Toby, Quaynor on Bedford, Crispy/Nicky Daicos on Daniels.

Their mids scare me even more now we are missing Adams.

We have a sensational coach who will be thinking about ways to stop that orange wave.

It's almost like no one has watched any of the Giants games recently. They've been impressive for a while now..and play very similar to us.

Port on the other hand have looked very battered & tired.

So it's really not surprising how this game is panning out. I had hoped it would be a bit more bruising for our opponent though.

I've read enough around, not just here in Bigfooty, of so many Pies fans that want Carlton in the finals and confident Pies will be there to beat Carlton.
First off, if Carlton beats Brisbane in Brisbane that will tell me that they are absolutely the team to beat... that will not be luck to beat Lions over there.

Secondly, those same Pies fans are disregarding GWS or Port, especially GWS. This team eliminated Pies in the MCG last time they met in the finals

GWS has 9 goals and 11 behinds... Port has 5 goals and 6 behinds... 20 shots to 11.

Pies were up 27 points against Melbourne but scoring shots Melbourne was getting more amd also inside 50s.

Fingers crossed Port comes back and at least make this a game. I want both bruised up for next week but so far GWS looks like they're playing witches hats.

When you cut it to basics, a game plan is the patterns you want them to run, where you want them to position and the decisions you want them to make with the ball.

At the end of a close game, what you want them to do varies depending on the scoreboard.

Under Bucks we stuck to the same patterns regardless of the scoreboard - watch that GWS final we lost and us just repeating the same stoppage tactics over and over again.

Under Fly we clearly vary it depending on the scoreboard and if you don't practice the variations, you're not going to vary it as well.

Carlton look like they're practicing the variations and they are talking about doing so, so I don't get why you're doubting it. Melbourne don't look like they are.

Lmao. We are the best team in the comp. Our defence will dismantle GWS. Port have been witches hats for two weeks. Both Brisbane and GWS have had no pressure on them at the clearances.

The Pies play tough chaos footy.

Both prelims next week will be won by the two best teams who are sitting back strategising as we speak.
