These stories would occur independent of Port cooperating. Port wouldn't get "word" that Hinkley is in play for West Coast until it is a fait accompli. Would ease the financial burden to get rid of Hinkley though, so not as if the Club would stop in Ken's way.

Imo, the reason that they would want Hinkley is because they would want an old head who had experience rebuilding teams, and they would task the job to Ken and the footy department to set the foundations down and have similar expectations to our board to make finals in either years 2 or 3, then give the position to the next coach.

Yea, but as he’s manager, surely you’d be throwing the kitchen sink to get the West Coast job. The amount of money is beyond what we can ever offer; hell, the Eagles can offer the Indian Ocean with the amount of reserves they have to him and his client. Perth's lifestyle is similar to that here in Adelaide. He’ll go in with no pressure for a bit. Perfect scenario for all parties.
