I really think it will set up our season.
GWS away
Richmond Etihad
Eagles away
Geelong away

Very tough run. Giants in red hot form, Tigers have improved, eagles away always hard and we haven't beaten Geelong in ages.

To top it off, by the sounds of it from Bev's press conference we can't expect any of our injured players to return.

I think we need to go at least 2-2 in this period if we want to stay in touch with top 4.

Where do you guys think the 2 might come from and do you guys agree this period is critical?

I feel conflicted about how we are going at the moment. We really have been disappointing at times, but just doing enough to eeek out unfashionable wins. If we continue in this manner, we will eventually be found out and get belted. But I just have this feeling that we are going to rise to the occasion against the best, as this will be when we are at our most motivated. I don't necessarily think we will beat the likes of Adelaide and GWS, but I believe that we will be competitive against these sides and give ourselves a chance to win. The question will be whether we take this chance.

If we are to contend this year, we really need to to fix our clearance work and be more efficient in the forward half of the ground.

It would be acceptable to be 2-2 following the next 4 matches. That would leave us in a reasonably good position at 6-3. I think we are most likely to beat Richmond and Geelong. GWS and WCE away are tough. I think I would almost be prepared to accept 1-3 if it meant we beat GWS though. :D

Yeah I think Richmond and Geelong most likely.

I would be very happy with 2-2. I would have pencilled in 1-3 at the beginning of the year even before I knew how inconsistently we'd be playing. Right now i'm worried about 0-4.

As to which teams we beat - i just don't know. I can't help feeling it's more about us getting our act together than the opposition we play. I feel like we can beat anyone if the Dogs Finals team from 2016 shows up. Unfortunately, those guys still seem to be in Bali.

There are arguments you could make for any of the teams:

GWS - they're playing in Canberra, so both teams are on the road. And they have proven themselves vulnerable to pressure in the past, and capable of believing their own hype.
West Coast - missing NicNat, and almost got rolled by St Kilda over there. Flat track bullies who can be jumped.
Geelong - will not have played a single Top 8 team by the time they get to us (and by the team we get to them WE may not be a Top 8 team too!) So could be in 2nd gear.
Richmond - They're Richmond.

But yeah, i think our chances begin and end with where our heads are at.

Will only beat Richmond by the way we are going, probably only because we have the wood on them lately and that it's at home.

Will have frustrating losses against GWS and WCE where we blow chances/have lapses in the game and probably will get annihilated by the Handbaggers like normal on their patch.

To beat GWS, WCE and Geelong we need to play tough contested unaccountable football, particularly against Geelong, can't let Dangerwood have a night out on us, it could get ugly if we put no attention into them.

Quietly confident we might beat the space wasters. Cameron playing mind games citing us as the best team in the comp still (not saying we're not, just think he's trying to get in players heads ). Might backfire.
For some reason I've got a horrid feeling about Tiges - can see them beating us convincingly and the nightmare of their self inflated egos continues (until the mid season run out of gas happens as usual)

Honestly, if our current form continues we will be over 10 goals behind by halftime in each game, possibly only 6 goals behind against Richmond. We can't keep starting games like we have the past month. We are getting too far behind and it's due to a lack of intensity at the coalface.

We are getting killed in the clearances and contested ball which is indicative of lack of intensity and pressure at the contest. We have also looked not fit enough to be able to play this high pressure style. Yet that is what won us the Premiership and was the hallmark of the 2016 Bulldogs finals team.

Unless this is turned around we will get smashed. In fact the next couple months leading up to the bye and just after will tell whether we are going to finish top 4 or just make the eight. I really hope they fix the problems but I'm very worried and the next month will tell us a lot.

You claim we don't look fit enough yet it is our 2nd halves and final quarters in particular winning us games. I'm confused.

Throw in Saints in Round 10.

Will be happy with 3-2 in those 5 weeks and 7-3 into the Bye.

That's the beauty of a 4-1 start. Worst case scenario we 1-4 those 5 ( no I won't even consider a winless streak) we are 5-5 at the bye, reset for the home run. I'm thinking Tiges Cats and Saints wins, and 7-3 would be very
acceptable.
