Seeing as we have played in 5 grand finals in the last 10 years,what would be our ultimate of the last 10 years?

Get rid of Scotland, Holland and N Davis, and replace with Medhurst, Maxwell and O'Brien.

Scotland wasnt that great for us and is a bitter enemy now, Davis was never fully committed and his reputation was enhanced in the 2005 finals, while Holland was honest but not not an All Australian player.

O'Bree and Wakelin unlucky.

agreed. don't think fraser makes it either - particularly if its about side rather than best 22 players .... Leigh Brown made a better second ruck.

I guess it depends on how you view it. To me Wakelin was solid but in and out of the team a bit. He was good at getting the job done most of the time but he was never one of the great defenders of the comp when he played. Reid on the other hand has has 2 really good years in a row and is already AA. His last two years I'd say are better than what Wakelin produced.

IMO we lack quality smalls, and his grand final record speaks for itself, unlike his closest alternative.

All I noticed was that three teams had him in their line up, it doesn't make much difference to me where he lines up, the fact he is getting mentioned is ludicrous enough on its own.

It's worth keeping in mind in a thread like this that the team isn't ever going to actually take the field, so you shouldn't be overlooking more worthy players just so that you can 'balance' the team.

Blokes like Maxwell, Davis or O'Bree all deserve to be named three times over before Sidebottom.

I've named the side that would perform best for the club over the last ten years, on a big stage. Maxwell and O'Bree you may have a case for, but their roles are filled by players that are better than them. I personally don't rate Davis at all, so Sidebottom is my preference.

You're insinuating that Leon "Mr September" Davis is better than Sidebottom.

That in itself is laughable. I'd be selecting a side that can take us all the way. Davis has proven four times over that that side would not include him.

You're referring to this thread as a joke because people have selected Sidebottom in their side?
But you have no problem that sides already contain Maxwell and Fraser?

Maxwell, whilst being a great leader for the current side shouldn't be in this team as you have the great one in Nathan Buckley who fills that role whilst providing elite skill. Maxwell also wouldn't get a defenders role when you have the likes of Presti, Reid, Clement, Wakes, Shaw, and O'Brien who would take a defenders position/interchange before Maxy.

Fraser before Leigh Brown as second ruck or resting forward? No way.
