Robert Walls commented that our worst 6 players on Saturday were not good enough.

Which players that played on Saturday are not good enough/won't be in our preimership side of 2010?

The very harsh calls on AJ continue, and it amazes me.

He's a young kid FFS, a rookie listed player, and he has played every game for us this season, for a team that is well and truly on the improve.

There really is not much more that we could be asking of him at this point in time.

To rule him out completely is a premiership player is absolutely ridiculous. Poor form IMO.

no, no, no, no, no

thornton had a shocker yesterday but this year for the most part he has played well as a link up defender. He never should have been put on roughhead, Ratten has a lot to answer for.

Wiggins has been in career best form and only last week was rated on par with Rievwolt.

Russel continues to get better game and was way off being our worst yesterday.

Joseph is coming on in leaps and bounds and is the stopper that we have been looking for.

The others you mentioned definately are in the bottom six.

I think Wiggins hardness and desperation makes up for any short comings and he has become a certain starter. (he is the new hickmont)

Of the players not playing yesterday I reckon Hadley, Grigg, Warnok, Walker(fitness pending), Robbo and you would think Yarran will all be cemented by the end of 2010. With Browne, Hampson, Garlett, Jacobs and joe anderson being close.

I would expect the players that won't cut the mustard from yesterday to be Bentley, Cloke, Russell and Irish

Hold up there.
Armfield is safely in our best 22. He is one player that I can easily say gives 110% each week and goes harder at the ball than anyone in our team. He also loves to take the game on and take risks which is something we have been lacking, and you only have to watch that almost game winning assist when he shrugged mitchell ran 20 odd metres and kicked it to fev. Same goes with Joseph. He is still very young and as the years progress, will advance into a more mature and skillful athlete.

Though agree with Russel, O'hailpin, Wiggins, Cloke.
These 4 players have their games, but are players that are far from consistent.. which is what we are crying out for. With the inclusion of players like Warnock, Yarran, Walker, Grigg and Robinson with a big list of young players pushing senior selection, those 4 guys will find that no matter how much they bleed blue blood (Wiggins, o'hailpin in particular) they will find themselves elsewhere in the coming years.

From what I saw of Bentley yesterday was fairly average, but because I haven't seen enough to judge him as of yet, I'm gonna let him off the hook.

Shit thread. Robert Walls is one ****ing tool.

Stop being so one eyed. Its very true. Our worst six are alot worse than hawthorn and Geelongs worst six. How badly was cloke found out in a game like yesterday.

Bentley should never have been given a game. Hadley has more class and could rise to the occasion of big game. We had a lot of players fumble are crucial times. Russell just continues to be let down by his disposal and decision making.

Is that how we talk about our past preimership players/Coaches?

Yes! he is an absolute f******, seriously he never has anything positive to say, especially about carlton players when hes commentating, hes just a total dick, I have to turn off the commentary when hes on, he just pisses me off to bad, he thinks he knows everything and seriously! did anyone hear him go on how bloody fev holds the ball! he says it every time and for **** sakes he kicked bloody 99 goals last year, franklin has been jsut as inacurate this year and i dont see walls commenting on the way he holds the ball, hes a dick thats all there is too it

People tend to mark him harshly due to when he was drafted, which is a special kind of stupid. Surely once a player is on the list we should judge players on their merits, not when they were originally drafted?

For a rookie who didn't player a game last year to come out and play the first five games of the year like he has... that the kind of thing you hope your rookie selections achieve. He's a great prospect and I can't wait to see what he'll become with another 30-50 games under his belt.

I agree with everything you said...expect it's been six games, not five.

I was excited about him ever since I saw a highlights package when we drafted him. Disposal was an issue but he reminded me a lot of Foley (who also was a rookie with disposal issues). Has a lot of pace and can break the lines. We haven't seen it yet but I think, with a bit more confidence and maturity, we'll see more of an attacking side from Aaron Joseph.

Definitely had no issues finding the ball as a junior and if he can continue doing the lock down roles he's doing at the moment but start winning more of the footy, then he'll be a very valuable player for us.

Interesting, if Fev kicvked straight it wouldn't have been our bottom 6 that lost us the game as we would've won. Technical but true.

I can think of Bentley then it's hard from there. It's not about our worst 6, that can change from week to week. Most of those mentioned above have had decent seasons. We need Cloke to play as there's no other options at CHF. Everyone else get disrespected by us and the opposition causing everyone (opposition) and everything (us) to go to Fev. Very predictable. He's still "feeling" the CHF role and he's been alright this season, barring yesterday disaster. Would've been lost in the Hawthorn zone at this point of his development at CHF. Works hard, provides a presence, takes a decent mark as well as taking a man from Fev. Players are inclined to look for him too most weeks unlike Hartlett etc....Thornton's been good for years, anyone who says otherwise struggles with the game. Wiggo's been good for a couple of years and provides a physical presence. Setanta hardly done much wrong in his time in the seniors over the last two years. We need to judge him on his footy, not stereotype him.

Barring Bentley it's hard to find our bottom 6. We're probably not badly off when you think of it. Not as good as Geelong's bottom 6 but hey, if we were we'd be talking flags. Need another pre-season in the gym and developing for that task. so take away Geelong , Hawthorn, St.Kilda and we match well with the rest. Gradually building.

Jospeh isn't in our worst 6. Not seeing him during the game means he's doing his job. Rioli was useless yesterday - exactly what we wanted.
Exactly.

Walls is an overrated knob who wouldn't know the game if it slapped him in the forehead.

Sorry, Eddie. That's just incorrect on at least a couple of levels. You might want to research his playing/coaching record before insulting such a club great just to fit in here. Poor form, son.
