Would be great if clubs could do that Slim but having the resources to have a security guard might not be available to all clubs!
I see that Swansong didn't respond to his team supporters having BYO drinks the first week at Moyhu. What do you think of that Swansong???

I think they've taken the short term pain approach Rumble, hoping to recoup the costs in better gates etc...

As for SS he's gone into hiding by the look of it....you can only pump your own tyres up for so long before they blowout...;););)

open for discussion......

during a pre game address for senior footy, is there an acceptable or appropriate amount of F--- bombs allowed? I understand the coach is addressing grown men, but was told today of over 40 (the player counted) in a space of 2 or 3 minutes and there were a few c--- thrown in too! how effective can that be??

Pretty sure this one did the trick!!!

I'm with you Doona, only because of the inspirational story at the end....:p how often did you use it by the way...??

The other coach referred to by earlier posters, I'm told, has quite a good grip of the game, just can't communicate it in an open forum:thumbsu:

question for tige

S. DOCHERTY is selected to play seniors this week, but is also playing thirds. wasnt the meeting you lot went to last week say this couldnt happen without approval from the league?

Or are Glenrowan playing funny buggers?? (j Hearn not selected and half back left blank)

just skimming thru the teams, KV have a few big names missing Hunter,Sessions both inj last week, G O'Brien and Rusty Wylie also not named.
Whereas G/Bat have 2 big bodies in Tim Walker and Arendshosrt in......Could be lot closer than we all think....

TImmy wont have a great impact (yet), he isnt match fit, only played a few games when he was up in darwin last year, although he will definately give them something to kick too!

A quick note Slim.
The Benalla District sides need to be given a bit of slack to draw on the players from the region. Which, given time will filter to south .. maybe Violet Town. God forbid .. maybe even Longwood Redlegs? Also for this Wang region to support this thing we call district footy – we must watch the money paid to nebutantes!! That’s a newbie debutante looking for payment without credentials!
My big surprise last weekend was Tatong getting over Swanpool in the local derby.
I remember Andrew James as a competitive little buggra in the kid’s cricket in the early nineties and it didn’t surprise me to see his confident photo in the Chronicle last week to say that he was keen for a win over the Swannie Blues. Well done to Jamesie and especially to the Lewis’s at Tatong and Dennis who runs the bar, gate, bonfire etc, etc, etc!!
The Swans put their acorns into capital work over the last few years so they can’t be written of yet.
One of the other footy clubs to put their heart and soul into country footy is Goorambat so players and supporters need to step up.
So that brings us to Bonnie Doon. They didn’t lose a game in the Benalla League over the last couple of years due to extraordinary money and assistance from the ruling bodies. I see the dogs got done last week .. I no complain.
Oh. Longwood Redlegs play off against Ardmona for cellar dweller status at Ardmona on Satd’y in the KDFL.
Country district footy .. y’ gotta love it!
Cheers

Your opinion and wisdom is appreciated as always JC....And you may not want to end up being the "Cellar Dwellar", we all remember how popular he was on BF.....

Cheers and keep your pointy end down and your roots moist.:)

Hey Slim
What happened to the man who called himself CD?
Hope he didn’t become DVD after he was red carded in the BDFL posts of ghosts of football pass .. (Die a Violent Death!!)

He tried to insult me as “The Vegieman”; but like all Aussie nicknames, Carrot started as an insult 50 years ago but respect was earned and Carrot stuck. So I’m quite prepared to accept Vegieman as a compliment nowadays.

Carrot .. orange, with a pointy end and green bush at the other end.
The vegie carrot improves your eyesight .. and sometimes your perspective with it!

If you wish for me to publish my recipe for Roast Beetroot. Just ask!

The Vegieman predicts Longwood Redlegs to win against “Con the fruiterers” at Ardmona tomorra..

Cheers Slimbo
