Good to see Benalla living up to all expectations. Another long year ahead for the boys.

It was the first game the boys had played together to right them off straight away i think you could be kidding your self there is a lot of good players in that team an a few to come back in that werent there yesterday give them a few games before you comment like that.....

No, I wasnt at the game, but the score is usually a good indication of how the game went. And I have no doubt they will get it together and win a few games either.

Milawa were impressive yesterday. Probably would have won if they'd kept playing attacking footy in the last.

I think they ran out of fit players near the end of the game with atleast three injuries by 3 quarter time. Therefore no bench in the last. Apparently the game was of a very high standard

Chronicle today said Newton has done his knee again.....Bad news` for him and Milawa

Dean johns will do wat he always does plays the last few games he cant last a year out but will play finals and the impact that walsh will make will stun a few people i think he is a good football who showed good signs in the ovens and murray matches that i seen he will kick some goals and name who is going to fire for whorouly u have lost your guns what kids are going to step up this year???
Walsh did he play?Certainly stunned by his performance given the wrap you gave him.No one fired!

Poor B*gger!

Spread Eagle, re: the Greta V Blacks game. The result didn't really reflect how close the game was. Greta was simply able to score a bit more often and rebound out of the backline more often.

The game was played in the right spirit and there was no rough stuff behind play. It seems Benalla are moving the the right direction. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Virge how did the machine go,see he kicked a few.Did he line up at FF or did Thomson?

Yeah he played ok Slim , one goal in particular was vintage stuff . Thommo was a class above , played mainly half forward . Looking forward to seeing more of him during the season.

KV went pretty well for a team that hasn't played together and was missing their ruckman. Will only get better you would think

Dont think many teams would have "played together" until last week been the first game , i noticed Hunter was mentioned in the paper so which ruckmen didnt play ?

Hunter didn't actually play. He was listed as best on ground on the O&K website, which was a pretty good effort considering... He will be in this week though.

In all fairness to Matt Walsh, i think it was his first hitout due to cricket commitments. Played at CHF which is not easy on the small whorouly ground. Thought he showed plenty of potential considering. Wasnt getting great supply, early days though. Himself at C/H/F and Tim Hickey at F/F are both only 18 year olds, but with loads of talent, will need a couple of weeks to gel together. Dean Benstead showed he will be a handy pick up for bright, adds some classs and finish to their midfield.

Lots of blokes in the same boat with cricket. Not bagging him just Jimbob was telling us all how good he is and that the Lions were the team on the slide, must be dissapointed to loose to one of the weaker teams.

Bright 84 to Greta 57 (or there abouts) - Greta 2nds won by about 5 goals and the Alpine Eagles (3rds)won by a fair bit.
