A lot of these kids have also come through our junior comp, this is what I call the home grown talent ! Jack Price, Dean Heta, Phil Wallace, Jarod Gorupic, James Dickson, Josh McCudden, Jack Melrose, Mark Doolan, Todd Bryant, and injured Brad Hibberson and Daniel Frawley !

Pretty sure Gorupic played all his junior footy at Wodonga. Was a gun too!!

Robbie Jackson has got to be kidding himself if he says that the O&M is still No.1 in country Victoria (today's Border Mail). The results of last weekends game speaks for itself - simply not good enough. Due to the loss, they are now not even rated as second best.

Yes, you would be expecting him to say they were duds and he was wasting his time.

Strangely enough, he didn't. He did say that they were beaten by a better team.

Unless both leagues have their entire lists to pick from we'll never know for sure.

still think overall the o and m is better than gvfl, if o and m had of recruited 5 afl players they would have won. how long do you think yze and robertson and co will stay at shepp. one year ??

who knows depends on how there bodies hold up i suppose...
back to O&m. . . . who does everyone think is the best player in the comp this yr on form, d.leslie been good but not as good as last yr, m.stevens last yrs morris medalist havent heard alot about him this yr, hyde killing it from all reports
what's everyones thoughts on form alone???

Hyde is hard to go past on form. Mackie not too far behind him. Deadset match winners those two.

Andie Hill has been in good form for the Rovers playing midfield and kicking goals and probably one of the toughest in the comp.

Interesting to see the QAFL forum. "Problems at ASPLEY" is this a reflection on the Ovens and Murray and GVFL as players were taken from this league. How are our guys going? Will they go harder again next year in trying to secure players? Looking at their results looks like they don't have any forwards. Can't kick a score, but seem to get 20 - 30 kicked on them consistantly each week. .

Interesting weekend ahead with 2 big improvers in North and Raiders to do battle in what could be the decisive game for 3rd spot. Any thoughts on the outcome? Also which side is shaping up to fill the 5th spot?

Have to agree, Andy Hill has been killing it by all accounts and tough at the ball plus he is older than most of the other blokes mentioned!

Three players in the sunraysia league were suspended for 1 game for inadequate excuses for missing the recent interleague game has this happened any where else?

As much of a gun as Andy is, I'm surprised by these posts. His form so far this year has been significantly down on the past two years, when he was a clear best on ground most weeks. So far this year I haven't had him best on once, and I've been to seven of the nine games. Don't think the club has named him best on yet either. Although he's missed a couple I'd say Ross Hill would be just leading the b&f from Sean O'Keeffe at this stage, with Andy probably in fourth behind Karl Norman.

Apparently Mimo is boxing down in Melbourne instead. I played against St.Kilda City before moving back to the border and Murray Silver told me that not even Mimo knows what he is doing! Apparently he was training and played St.Kilda Cities last practice match and then went walk about!

Can the Faders hang on to the finals spots??? Would think so but the have been known to disappear under pressure in the past!!!!

Are North the most improved team or Raiders to date? Both had an ordinary 2009.

In an ordinary game of football you would have to say that North or the RAIDERS would not bother the 1st & 2nd sides on the ladder but the RAIDERS will play finals.
Interesting to see Cupido's antics after the game punching the air and jumping around and still North Albury have the WORST supporters in the league.
Anyone from Corowa Rutherglen still listening on on here ?
You were very boisterous when up and about a few years ago, I would just like your opinions on where the club is heading in the next few seasons ?

You have got to be Kidding me Viking, ordianry game of football because Raiders lost, was one of the most exciting games i have seen in along time. . . either way the result went it would have been still a good spectical! And whats wrong with people being flamboyant after a good win, i think u would have noticed most of the north boys doin that...
i think both sides will play finals and i think raiders have a better list, although i think north have improved more due to losing Horn Eams Brain Nelson and picked up cupido and klemke i think its more development from the younger guys!! thats my opionion and only sayin that because i see north more the raiders

Was at the game but didn't see the incident - it was more than 50m away from play. Bloke sitting next to me said Conroy and Walker were involved in a minor push and shove when Walker spun around and belted him. Conroy was on the deck for quite a while and has now had a steel plate put in his jaw. Will miss the next six weeks at least. Disgraceful act on a fair football player.

As for Myrt, they are improving, but very tough to see them getting a win. If Corowa have a few players out in round 13 they will be a chance, but they won't beat anyone else.

It seems as though Albury are sitting above the rest of the pack still, but slowly teams are making some slight ground. Yarra are capable of beating Albury but also losing to sides below them. North looked like they are up and about when they accounted for Raiders and i would say the match between them and Yarra in a few weeks might be interesting.
The top 4 seem settled, but who will take the 5th spot? Seems to be between Wodonga, Wang and Lavi.
I think the North boys were up and about after the game due to the amount of hype coming from the Raiders camp, and we all know of some heated games between the 2 clubs in recent years. Not too sure about North having the worst supporters, seems like a big claim and im sure every club has their own opinion on who's supporters are the worst.
Can anyone beat Albury is the question? With Albury having a strong list available at the end of the year and the double chance, who would be most likely to match up well on them and give them a red hot go?

Hard to say a couple of players reflects on the GV & O&M leagues based on one side struggling.

Don't forget Nathan Gilliland from Euroa in GV (and played at Wang Rovers too) won the league B&F in the QAFL last year.
