MaclureM and Milk, you are a goose! get off this forum, you're starting to really annoy me just like you do on a Saturday afternoon!
One thing is for sure I would hate to go to war with the umpire fraternity if calling a girl a B**** is seen to be the end of the world.
Good stuff Pearce of Jack!!!

As for tristan, got what he deserved... i'm waiting to see whether the myrt crew gather $25k and take it to the appeals board like the murray case 06.

Murray should have got 3-4 for smacking bridges in 06, he ended up getting his punishment a few weeks later when his man was named BOG in their heart breaking loss.

I wish someone would smack you in the head you whining little girl - go have another roast beef roll you fat loser.

I hope Myrt stick it up you and win it this year and Murray lays someone else on his back in the finals..... and gets away with it!!!

Great news for Myrtleford, crap news for us!

Scope why didnt nth give hoggy the job when Lambert retired two tears ago? They obviously want a playing coach and seem to have made a huge mistake in keeping Lambert on and letting Hodgson,McCormick and probably a few others go?

I will stick up for the Hoppers a bit this year.
They had ****e year in 2005, granted, but they set about rectifying the situation pretty well.
They got Dan Leslie back from Perth and also signed his mate Kurt Niklaus, but he bailed on the eve of the season in a rotten stroke of luck.
Niklaus will play for Vic Country this weekend so he can obviously play.
Sam Nevins, who rucked last year and finished top three in the b and f, was also set to stay until he received a second round uni placement in Melb which left the Hoppers without a No.1 ruckman as well before round one.
They signed a full-forward Tony Pierri who was on fire until he broke his wrist about six weeks ago when they were looming up as a finals chance after a slow start to the year.
Joel Mackie, one of their best players, a midfielder, also did his knee so bad it needs a reco about round four.
Clint Gilson, who was also going to be a regular senior player, has also undergone a knee reco.
Also Adam Prior was set to stay at Hopper Park until he got taken with the very last pick in the pre-season draft.
Imagine a goal-to-goal line of Aydan Brown, Mark Hilton, Joel Mackie, Adam Prior or Dan Leslie at CHF, Pierri and a first ruck division of Nevins, Niklaus and Bush.
Definite finals material in my eyes.
Corey Lambert can't be held responsible for so many bad breaks before and during the year.

I was not bagging Nth Albury i was just saying that they had the perfect opportunity to sign T.Hodgson when Lambert retired from playing but they chose to let him and some other senior players go.If they were so keen to keep Hodgson then why did this happen?I believe at the time of Lamberts retirement Nth stated that they would prefer a playing coach! Is this correct Harsh but Fair?

I can't recall North Albury making the blanket statement they would prefer a playing coach when in fact they re-appointed Corey as a non-playing coach.
Wouldn't make any sense.
Travis Hodgson was red-hot to coach at the end of 2004 when North Albury made the grand final under Corey.
Corey couldn't do much more than make a grand final in 2004 because Wodonga was a special to win it given the players they acquired after losing the grand final the previous year.
Corey deserved another go so Travis had to look elsewhere.
Brent Piltz needed a change because his footy was getting stale at North Albury and is playing some of his best footy as a defender which is not a position he played at North Albury because of the presence of Brown and Hilton.
He was an obvious recruiting target for Travis and he headed to the hills as well.
Corey and Simon McCormick had a major parting of the ways at the end of 2003.
Simon never said the reason for his defection to Wodonga was the fallout with Corey, but everyone knew it was the case.

Thanks you make a very good arguement for Corey Lambert, maybe you could be his advocate in his discussions for the coaching job at Nth.

Fair call,

mind you if he's gunna run round giving a love tap every now and then, he would want to get used to coping a week or 2 every now and then!

who are you ITM to be throwing around comments like this? after ppl have said lets forget this topic. just coz some people like to voice their opinion and defend their fellow members, what is wrong with that?

on to proper issues, can the panthers do it again this year? could they challenge the current front runners that no one else can seem to look past myrtleford and yarra? or maybe if albury can manage to string together 4 quarters regularly, they might challenge the top teams? what are everyone else's thoughts?

I think anyone in the top five could take it out this year if they hit top form at the right time, but based on current form Yarra are clear favourites. On top of the ladder with only one narrow loss for the year and they don't look like dropping another one. When challenged by a good side in Albury last week they stepped up and won comfortably. Plus the top five system, which is probably the best finals system in my opinion, rewards the side finishing on top by giving them the easiest path to the big one.

I think that all teams in the top five are capable of beating each other. Obviously Yarrawonga and Myrtleford are the front runners at the moment being in 1st and 2nd on the ladder. Lavington always seem to fire in september and most teams will be keeping an eye on them as the year goes on. Albury as you say are very capable of beating any side if they can string 4 quarters together. Wodonga can also win on any day but my opinion is they won't go further than their third place at the moment.

I agree agent everyone in the 5 is capable of winning the premiership but cant see the Bulldogs going to far!
