Breaking News at wodonga

Danny Cohen has signed with wodonga Raiders

Work related deal (building new club rooms for Raiders)

Kennell shattered with decision

Cohen informed club today

Also, Keith Ainsworth is heading to Federals with Nev Nugent

Brendan Liddell works at the Wang base Hospital but the word is that he will stay at Seymour.

Wodonga's losses also include Simon Paton and Hayden Heta - and isn't Cohen going to Mitta. Also understand that Cameron is working back in Wagga.

Agree with assessment of Yarra - based on current movements will be very short favorites to go back to back.

Hey Clackas

What happened with Craig Shearers finals series??

Cohen to Raiders - now this would be a significant surprise and could not possibly be true R5.

Danny Cohen is not playing at Wodonga Raiders, he has been training at Mitta.

Shearer, now owns the New Albury and if he plays is likely to travel from Melbourne.

Shearer didn't get a kick during the tigers' unsuccessful 2002 finals series after enjoying a 60-goal season.

Wodonga Raiders practice matches

Friday 9th March - v Benalla at Benalla under lights.

Saturday 17th March v Shepparton Swans at Shepparton.

Saturday 24th March v North Heidleberg at Birallee Park.

Does anybody have any ladder predictions this early into the new year???

I'll have an early crack at it

Yarra (by how far)
Wang (McCormack coming back vital for them)
North (Some big inclusions)
Tigers (some bias here)
Lavi (seem to hang in most years)
Myrtleford (Hard to know wot'll happen)
Dogs (Big gains and big losses)
Roos (Could surprise me)
Rovers (haven't heard anything)
Raiders (Long way off it in 06)

Leading Goal Kicker - Adam Prior 85 goals
Morris Medal - Jon MacCormack, Kade Stevens, Luke Carroll
Premiers - Yarra by 12 goals over daylight

So where did you get your info from re Cohen going to Raiders, Row5 ????

On return from his honeymoon late feb early march, Cohen will play for Mitta (dependant on workload). Apparently showed Wodonga lack of interest, sighted 'no motivation' as key to leaving O&M.

Interesting Ovens and Murray observations

Xaver Mardling from CDBU across to Wodonga Raiders, after a fallout with the Campbells at Corowa. This seems to be a constant link with players leaving Corowa.

Wangaratta will be the No. 1 contender for the Premiership, with Jon McCormick winning the Morris Medal by a record number with over 30 votes. He will poll in every game.

Yarrawonga will have to work hard to keep the locals interested as they recruit more out of town players. Paul Banch has gone to Mulwala, Mark Tyrell is looking at other options. Tyler Bonat like wise.

Wodonga are struggling to keep several juniors becqauase of their recruiting. Also the Wagga Tigers have drawn a curtain on clerances to Wodonga.

Won Ainslie's best and fairest in 2005 but struggled with injury in 2006.

Was one of a couple offered a reduction in money and has been rummoured to be a possible assistant coach at Albury.

real good player , great over head and plays both ends , loves the social sides as well .

I heard that Rick Shalders has left Yarra to head over to Perth to ply his trade as a builder, what was he like and will he be much of a loss to yarra????

Tyrell will be playing in the VFL, for Port Melbourne I think.

yes port melbourne along with fellow ex yarra players in natt and bo nixon. headed down to kick off his career as a builder.

vagg and shalders along with a few mates always had plans to head to perth for a year and will return in the future. shalders would have slotted quite easily into most o & m senior sides last year but due to yarras talent couldnt squeeze in.

Paul Banch has gone to Mulwala

Banch hasn't done a thing during his whole time at yarra apart from keep medical staff busy

Hey guys, Brett McNamara has come to Geelong to play for Newtown.

Howd he go last Year??? and how did Myrtleford go???
