The AFL would have a level of oversight of what is going on and how Sydney are managing it. I'd say they are comfortable that Sydney is managing it well, so no need to step in.

When he’s got suspected CTE at the age of 35 and his life is in tatters I’m sure he and his family will take great solace in the fact that paperwork was correctly filled out to allow him to keep playing.
