People calling for Mills head are clueless. He came up big in game 1 and then came up against world class point of attack defenders in SGA and Brooks.
What are the alternatives? An injured Exum? It looks like Charlotte have already broken Green, Daniels who can't run point.

I dont think theres an issue with Patty. Canada have a heap of elite defensive guards in Dort, Brooks, Nembhard. Mills is too short and should have been bench rotation for this game but Goorj likes to show the same hand all game so it was piss easy for a competent coach to make adjustments.

I feel like Goorjian could have/should have done more to alter the pace of the contest than what he did.
Fast pace of the game suited Canada heavily and for large stretches it felt like we were more than happy to play right into their hands.

We did that with Doncic in the bronze medal game last time and pulled it off. I feel this will be tougher though

Goodish thing is almost the entire 2nd half bar about last 4 mins of the 3rd was utter poo, and we only lost by 10. Don't know anyone that was tipping us tonight, reckon Canada are pretty safe for a medal.
Equation hasn't really changed, just need to tidy up a bit and beat Greece and we'll finish 2nd in the group, really can't see Spain beating Canada. I would have taken that in a heartbeat pre tournament.

It failed the second time around with Doncic at the World Cup. With Greece having pretty low chances of advancing now hopefully we can pull it off.
Looking at calculations, we can’t miss if we beat Greece. For Spain to jump us, Canada would fall to 3rd. As its P/D between the 3 teams, Canada is +10, Australia +2 and Spain -12.

Mills is cooked. There's a reason his playing time has dropped significantly the last couple of seasons. At this point, he's a smart veteran presence who can play spot minutes. He's not Boomer Patty for two thirds of the game anymore.
Would much prefer him given a microwave-type role on this team. If he gets hot, fantastic. If he's off then he sits.

Josh Green needs to pull his finger out. Needs to use his athleticism to actually attack yeh basket once and while. He's so passive

Overall we were pretty good against a gun team that everyone us predicting to be playing for gold.
Yes a few silly turnovers etc but we were pretty good.
Also give Giddey abd Daniels another 4 years add in Furphy etc we'll have a great team in 2028

No one is calling for his head. Most just pointing out he was trash and Goorj should have made a change this game. Guys can have stinkers, let him reset and go for next one.
