Skateboarding is a ****ing pisstake.
Rolling around with helmets undone, headphones in, phones falling out of pockets in Olympic event.
The competitors are so much more interested in looking gangsta than representing their country.
America had 2 girls that looked like a Chris Lilley character.

These skateboarding dude commentators are back from their Tokyo gig on 7.
Sometimes they are annoying, some times funny, some times just say weird shit. But they are happy all the time and nothing seems to be a concern, there is always the next run it seems.

I like the addition of skateboarding and breakdancing but they should have added them 40 years ago back when they were cool.

Sending 14-year-olds to the Olympics... highly immoral. Not excused by other countries doing it, either.
We (the taxpayer) spend $1m+ a year on high-performance skateboarding, not including funding for facilities. Doesn't seem fair to put so much pressure on a kid who isn't even old enough to have a proper job in Australia (or parts of it, at least).

We have sent young athletes to the Olympics since forever.
17yr old hurdler Maureen Caird in 1968 (gold) 13yr old rower in 1960. 14yo sprinter in 1976. 14yo Sandra Morgan won an Olympic gold in the freestyle relay with Fraser, Crapp & 15yo Faith Leech. None of those Aussies in that relay were older than 19.
But they didn't get any funding back in those days.

Lots of sports showcase those areas.
In very few do the competitors have to have headphones and their phones in their pockets. 5 shots at making 2 successful tricks is being pretty generous.
