What a day at the footy.

The side has always had the ability to do something like this, but I didn't think it would happen like that. And so sudden.
I genuinely thought wed scratch and claw our way through the first few rounds of the season.

But bloody hell, that burst to start the last. Someone needs to forensically examine wtf happened and how we demolished Melbourne in 9 minutes of footy. It was brutal. Never seen anything like it since 2014 I reckon when we did similar to Hawthorn on a Friday night and against Richmond as well. I actually think this was far more damaging.

It was X. It was Powell. It was LDU. It was Sheezel. But to be fair it was Powell and X. But Powell. My word. Thats it. Thats the game.

So many highlights - the Woewoedin fumble and Parker pass to LDU and handball to Kerch - that play. That play sets up this era.

And special mention to Comben. He cost us 2 goals in the 2nd quarter and then copped the bronx cheers later on.
But it was comical how influential he was in the 3rd quarter. I couldn't stop laughing watching the replay how many intercept marks he took, watching on at the ground didn't do him justice.
That's his role. That's his elite role. If we can free him up to play that each week then we are well on our way.

I hope we all enjoy this win. We deserved it. We have been through so much the past few years and I know its been taxing.

5 qtrs won already this season. Last season took us until round 10 to win our 6th qtr. Progress

It's round 2, Hawthorn have played three games and Gold Coast one. Try explaining that one in 20 years.

Compare the Last Quarter's of Round 1 and 2 and it's like night and day. Boys did not want to lose and could smell blood. We haven't looked that dangerous in a decade, probably more.

Had time to reflect on what a sensational game of football we just witnessed.

The first three quarters had a bit of everything. We were dominant but it was our wasteful disposal and turnovers keeping the Dees in it. As we've established, the most difficult enemy, is ourselves. The minute we overcame that in the last quarter, it was how much the margin would be in our favour and boy, did we put the foot on the throat.

Tom Powell's influence stood out and the Dees tried to do everything they could with the Petracca, Viney and Oliver combo. Newsflash, it didnt work. You put work into Powell, then there's LDU or Sheezel to worry about. You put work into them, then Parker can come in. That's what made the Dees panic. It wasn't how they could get back in, but how much they could stop. Evidently, they couldn't stop much and quickly succumbed to the pressure and slick movement of the footy. The clearances, mixed with our ability to kick quick goals completely opened them up. They couldn't zone, couldn't find targets and worst of all, their best players couldn't find space. The Dee-molishing of the Demons.

Such a remarkable effort to put them away after only being three goals up. In the past, we'd see that lead vanish. Not today.

Jack Darling, on game 300, has shown what belief can do to a player when a fresh start is given. Did anyone see this coming?

Luke Parker was his typical self. Barking instructions and contesting the footy like he did for so many years at the Swans.

LDU was sublime. Disrespected the Dees midfield.

Powell had his best game ever. Complete game from a midfielder.

Xerri utterly destroyed Gawn.

Finn O'Sullivan will give Petracca's status as a star Pick 2 draft pick a genuine shake.

Paul Curtis. Need I say more?

Sheezel. Hasn't played to the standard we've set for him but we didnt need him to!

Zurhaar. That's twice in a row now he will make the Dees backline watch back the tape getting fisted with his 4 goals.

Larkey. Pick 73 for this bloke? Thats cheating.

RHJ. This guy might just about be our answer to the small forwards woes. Building rapidly. Very classy player.

Jacob Konstanty. Been a while since we've had a pressure forward that can kick classy goals!

Comben. I wanted to give up on the backline experiment so badly but he was immense in that second half. Melbourne couldn't get through him.

Corr. Did JVR play?

Lmac. Archer and him are now staring outside his bedroom window whilst Fritsch scrambles for the night light.

Pink. Done his job and buried a few Dees players. Twas entertaining and he is a handy player.

CD. As the game went on he started to hit some targets. Still trying to get used to things. It will happen.

Bails. Very good game as always.

McKercher. Finally got a goal! Iffy game overall but its just second year blues.

Will Phillips had a iffy game too. Sub was the right call.

Tucker was better this week. Battled well.

...and lastly, who could forget our captain. Huge in the midfield and set the tone with bone crunching tackling. Captain delivered.

I need to watch that last quarter again. It's incredible how quickly we ruthlessly destroyed them. That comes from a top 4 side. Are we a top 4 side now? Lol.

we've never won at AO, ever. Not once in 10 years. Not to be Debbie Downer but I don't see it changing next week sadly. The Crows forward line is scary good.

A small forward who can tackle and a second KPF.

Struggling to see all the Brady bashers right now?
It’s early days, but perhaps the guys in charge of recruitment & drafting may know what they’re doing…?

Yep. I reckon he took one grab right before half time that allowed us to hold our 2 goal lead.
As many have said, just a crazy 180 for Charlie. He was beside himself after Oliver snapped that goal.

To then dish out what he did in the 3rd quarter takes balls.

How quickly did the Melbourne supporters jump ship in the last quarter, lol. Five mins in their all heading towards the train station.

That last quarter was the most fun I’ve had watching football for many, many years.

So many positives. A handful of negatives, but what a great performance.

No, I still can’t think what to say. Speechless. Couldn’t get to sleep last night until I’d watched the whole replay and now I can’t get back to sleep after remembering that happened. Shared it with my son and thousands of my new best friends. I always go with faith but I did not see that coming. Great, great day. So full of joy for the players and coaches and Sonja and Jen and all the staff and all of us.
