Sorry for the intrusion, I live in a freo family and have always had a soft spot for them. I was at the game wearing purple yesterday! Anyway, the players just walked past at the airport, they looked completely gutted. I don't mean to be out of line but every freo fan should get to Subi to thank them.

I think a lot of the passionate supporters were still stuck in Melbourne, which was a shame. The crowds would have been much much bigger.

Glad some of you managed to go to represent us!

Apparently only about 3000 went down their today. Good on them for going down, but geez that's a low number. Everyone who watched the game on that street in fremantle where they showed the game should of been there today.
I was a bit mortified. I felt really sorry for the members who missed out in the ballot, but what's their excuse for not being there today???

Exactly, if we won, that place would of been packed. Respect goes out to the people that went down there today. If I lived in WA, I'd be there for sure, loud & proud.

we would have seen more than 3000 people dressed in Dockers gear walking around Melbourne today and then at the airport...our flight was full of purple people! so much for all those who whined about not being able to get across to Melbourne...sounds like their most loyal made it after all.

I went down, purely because they need our support. A lot of purple people around Subi. Their faces when they arrived and saw the number of people there was priceless. Must admit it broke my heart seeing their faces as they came out though...shed a tear. I think that's when it hit me. I've never seen so many shattered, sad grown men.

Will also add...disgusted with the bitching on twitter by a 6pr producer and a few other people, as well as on the 7 Perth news status about their arrival home....complaining that they ignored their fans as they arrived home and that they didn't sign autographs at the airport or at the PS event. What the heck is wrong with people?!

Not sure this point scoring is really necessary, you have no right to speak about the circumstances which led to some here missing out.

Couldnt get to pattersons today, due to other stuff.but managed to get to the airport. There was a small ,about a hundred or so good folk to welcome them back.I dont think anyone expected them to sign stuff,or whatever, mainly kids were hoping for a bit more.....but when you saw there faces coming down the stairs ,you knew..they were truly a shattered group of men,to be honest, they could not even smile or make eye contact. Ballas was not coping at all.
I am a very long time lurker,an escapee from melbourne many moons ago,,,years ago FREO stole my heart..and made me a freo tragic..i love those boys like my own...and I will be here..good,bad,ugly..and grandfinal!
Also thanks for the training reports, and all the stuff that keeps me sane.

From the footage on the telly they did seem to pretty much ignore everyone as they walked past. I know they are hurting and down on themselves, but come on, don't expect them to be signing autographs but they could have at least acknowledged the crowd.

Having said that, it is not that big of a deal

Its very poor form not to sign autographs.

As they were saying on radio. In 2005 Eagles players hung around for about a hour signing autograpgs. In 2009 Geelong fans hung around for about 2 hours signing autographs. St Kilda players didnt actually leave until everyone else left in 2010.

Its just common courtesy to hang around and support those who supported you. Its inexcusable for mine.

Well then, it's a good thing you don't support us but a much more morally correct side

Once you're finished with it, can I buy the high horse off you?

Freo players are going against the norm. They are the ones on the high horse. They are the ones too busy to spend 1 hour signing autographs for people who most likely waited 1 hour+ to support them. If there was 20k+ there and a security risk I can understand but that wasnt the problem

They just couldnt be assed

I was there yesterday along with a bunch of others. We stood there in the passing showers and waited till the blokes arrived.

When they did, the thing that struck was how sore and down they all looked. All of them looked like they could barely walk down the steps to be cheered by the crowd who turned up and I have absolutely no issue with them not signing autographs. Those guys had nothing left in the tank and didn't have the benefit of a victory to gee them up. I'm just happy to have been able to give them a cheer to let them know how much we appreciated them.

A couple of observations: Loudest cheer was for Pav. Crowley, Lurch, Fyfe and Mundy were pretty close. Ballantyne got a good cheer but he looked really upset. I spoke to some of the people there and they had just flown in from Victoria and still came down to stand in the rain to cheer the guys. Thats being a supporter!

I know a number of people who re-arranged their weekends to watch the game and consequently couldn't get there on Sunday plus its not easy bringing kids down on a wet day like that. I think I got hit with 3 or 4 passing showers and thats not much fun, so I can understand why parents would have trouble being there.

Overall, I hope the guys got a good sleep last night and start getting over the loss. Next year, lets go one better.

How many more times does this need to be said? **** off flog.

Listening to SEN, there is a Hawks fan on the radio saying that it took her 1 1/2 hours to get to Glenferrie Oval and the players were introduced, a speech by the coach and then they left. No autographs and they were basically on stage for 10 minutes. She was really disappointed.

Although I suspect a lot of the Hawks players were still tanked, may not have been appropriate for them to mingle with fans!!

In regards to the airport, I think it's likely they were told to forget signing autographs and head straight onto the bus. This is because they were already delayed landing on the tarmac and the family day was due to start at 2pm - I think they arrived around 3.45pm.

Unfortunately, being so dejected I think they took the message as 'lets just ignore everyone and get straight on the bus'. Apparently Hill and a number of players gave a wave and a few winks and nods; so it wasn't a complete slog off.
