It feels like one blow after the next at the moment....

They don't know the extent of the injury but it is unlikely he will play next week.

Fingers crossed BG - he's one bloke who can hold his head high with his last 10 weeks of footy. :thumbsu:

Hopefully its not too long, and we should have Thornton to come back at least.

Perhaps this is the opportunity Hartlett has been waiting for - good time to give him his chance.

Not convinced about Hartlett to be honest, especially down back.

I haven't seen one Bullants match this year but has he been playing down back or up forward?

I would rather let Aussie play Bower's role. Big opportunity for him and he has been playing some good footy.

Hopefully Thornton does come back next week otherwise our backline will be very thin.

I HATE INJURIES!!

Terrible, terrible news and let's hope it's not too serious.

But, as we've seen, with Waite's injury and Bower's emergence as a really good player, bad news for one player creates opportunity for another.

Whilst Bower out for a few weeks will be a huge loss, especially with Waite already out, Hartlett now has a fantastic opportunity over the next month to really try and show us what he can offer at senior level. This is the most important period of his career and if he steps up and shows enough he could well get another contract for next season.

Sorry - those two statements seem totally incongruous!!!!!!!

Has he been playing down back or up forward for the Bullants?

I haven't been convinced in the past when given the opportunity at Senior level, particularly when he has played in the backline.

Is that better?

When hes been at senior level he has played forward:eek:
Playing great footy this year...been to more bullants game than Carlton ones myself and thought he would've been given a go by now.

Majority of the time he has played forward for Carlton but he has been given stints in the backline.

I've heard he has been playing great footy this year but has he been playing up forward or down back??????

Down back, should've said that, sorry. Played forward past two weeks for bits of the game.

What has his role been though? Take the best forward, create some run and carry????

We cannot blame injuries for our season falling apart, every team, including the mob we played last night, has got several crippling injuries on our list, I think it's games like this that the club's lack of depth gets exposed, and several of our players are downhill skiers ...

Certainly finals are off the agenda for 2009, and injuries have very little to do with that ..

hey mate dnt start spitting chips that we cant make finals all the boys need to do is pull there finger out there ass and well still make finals for sure...............sure it was a horrible loss and i was tearing my hair out at the lack of commitment to the ball bu things can change in footy quickly and its just what carlton needs to do atm

Far from it. 9 games to go. We will make the finals.

What you have to remember that is that if we lose next week, which is a very strong chance considering Bower's out, and we haven't beaten Freo for nigh on 8 years, we will be 6-8 and basically that would mean we would have to win just about every game for the rest of the season to make the finals, esp consideirng our percentage took a bad hit last night.

9 weeks left and we need about 5 or 6 wins. If we are a finals team then we will beat teams like Sydney and Freo over there.

We beat Fremantle last year.

We still have several extremely winnable games (providing we don't bring last nights game to the table).

Richmond, Kangaroos & Melbourne you would think are ours to be won.

Adelaide and Sydney at the Dome SHOULD be wins.

Collingwood, as always is 50/50.

Freo at Subi and Port at AAMI will always be hard tasks, but as i said, providing we don't play like we did last night, they are winnable.

The only games i believe we can't win is Geelong.

i think it's fair enough. he knows nothing about the subject, has no information at all and therefore he's not convinced...

We beat Freo last year.

Whilst we were terrible last night, we are good enough to make the finals.
