Talk about irony when churches harbor a far higher percentage of pedophiles than the general population.

And yeah, so dangerous. Imagine normalizing being gay for some scared, confused kid terrified of being same sex attracted.

It’s bizarre people still think being religious gives them some sort of moral high ground.

The churches are/were often a safe place for the socially disenfranchised to hide themselves in plain sight. A useful haven for those who have socially disagreeable sexual urges, in particular. No need to explain the apparent celibacy. I'd imagine even someone who would now be recognised as asexual would have breathed a sigh of relief to realise there was an option, or an excuse, when such a thing might have been met with raised eyebrows in wider society.
Ironic, yes, but not entirely surprising.

Religion takes many forms though, doesn't it. The old religions are slowly dying with the proliferation of higher qualities of life, and being replaced with belief systems which no longer rely upon divine authority, but are still subservient to relevant dogma. Ideologies pursued with much the same fervor, and sometimes zealotry.

I meant it was ironic that Latham was throwing shade from what he considers a moral high ground of a church meeting at someone doing something compassionate for kids at school. Not that it’s surprising to find churches have a higher percentage of people with non mainstream sexual attitudes but your point is well made.

Can you elaborate on the new belief systems you’re referring to? I’m curious.

I was leading people to the conclusion that like Adem Somyurek, Mark Latham is entirely a product of the ALP. Without the ALP, we wouldn't know who he is, and we'd all be better for it.
Latham is a piece of shit and Labor acknowledged that more than a decade ago.
You liberal arseholes have been supporting peado's are actually rapists and thieves and have been ripping of the country for decades.

Jeezus H mate………
I see you’re not a real deep reader of a post before replying to said post!
“My pops grew up in Moonee Ponds…..”
He was born in Strathmerton, his father was an English man and mother was First Nations. His wife, my grandmother, the “Gormandale” entrant to my post, was of Romanian/Transylvanian Gypsy heritage with some French and Italian lines from our research.
On my fathers side, the majority is Germanic on his fathers side with Irish, Scottish and English on his mothers side.
I’m a mongrel and proud of it, I’m a person that at least can claim a portion of my genes and bloodline to the original inhabitants of this land we both call home.
Despite your lack of nuance and petty need to belittle my grandmothers genepool, I can assure you, that mine is most likely more deeply researched and greater than yours!
No hard feelings though guv, I’ve dealt with deeper pettiness and racism than you could ever imagine!👍✊❤️……here, have a chilli to bang up your clacker🌶️
Nah, I was more reflecting that we might be related. Apologies, No offense intended.

Apologies for missing the context. Sleep deprivation is proving to be a problem at the moment.

And, no. Not up to it at the moment.

says someone with major mental issues.

anyone that has seen 3% unemployment would know why we need the dole and the pension (for those earlier than retirement age). there is a large number of people where there contribution to work results in more work.

we should have participation in our society for all, which means participating for the dole and participating for the pension.

participate, yes. increase the dole and pension, yes..............belittle and deny the vulnerable, no.
