PC Case Gear have listings which should make it easier to try and get the one you want on launch day. Hopefully Scorptec follow as I'll be stuffed waiting for the listings to go live then searching for the one I want only to be too slow. They're still missing a lot of models that I'd expect they'll sell but still worth book marking.

They have one for each class but here is the 5080 lost as I know a few here are eyeing off that particular one.

I saw that too and noticed no Trio. If you go to 5070ti though there is a Trio there so they're definitely getting the full range from MSI but probably only adding them as they get confirmed allocations. What I think will happen too will be like what happened with the RTX3000 series and Ryzen 5000, they'll take orders regardless of stock. If they have stock you'll get what you ordered right away otherwise you'll just go into a queue. Can be a double edged sword going for something more common like a Gaming Trio because there might be a longer queue if you don't get one right away. Going for something that they'll have less of like say a Suprim or Astral you'll be less likely to get one day one (depending on how fast you are at the checkout) but because they're premium less people will be ordering so the queue will be shorter. If I were to guess the most popular it will be the MSI Vanguard (judging by Reddit and stuff), Gigabyte Aorus Master and Gaming Trio, then the Asus TUF and Strix now that isn't the premium model.

I remember messing up when I was ordering my 5900x. I had everything to go but didn't have my Paypal logged in or setup to recognise this browser and auto login. It took me 3 minutes 40 seconds from launch to confirm the transaction and that cost me 3 weeks. On the bapcsalesaustralia Reddit everyone was comparing order times and order numbers from PCCG to get an idea of where we were in the queue and if I were 40 seconds faster I would have been on the second shipment in the first week. That's the margins we're talking here lol. I don't think it will ever be that bad again because that was around covid and silicon shortage but the 5080 is going to be prime bot/scalper bait I think. NVIDIA has also priced the 5080 more fairly and I think the Gaming Trio will be among the best value and closer to MSRP which is why I'm starting to consider maybe just sucking it up going for the Astral because I like the aesthetics as much as the MSI cards and the extra it will cost will scare off some buyers and make it less of a scalper target increasing my chances.

Just tried digging through the post but lots of 50 series talk so I can't find it, but what's your use case? Just some 1080p gaming? Because if you're shopping in that price range I'd look at AMD because you'll get considerably more VRAM than anything on an NVIDIA card. Prices and supply is all over the place at the moment because both brands have new stuff coming out but I saw you can get a 7700xt for $629.

Just some 1080p gaming at 60fps meduim to high settings.

Was thinking amd. did own a few amd cards over the years but decided to avoid them because they kept giving me driver issues not sure about now tho.

Even the bloke at my local Centrecom said the same thing to avoid amd cards for that issue

I've never had an AMD card but the consensus that I have seen online is that those issues are in the past and they have no more driver issues than NVIDIA cards.

Yeah most of the AMD driver memes are a thing of the past. The only issues I see with Radeon drivers these days is they can be slow to release new drivers when new games come out. NVIDIA are definitely way ahead in that regard. NVIDIA are also quick to release a beta driver when drivers are causing issues with certain games.

Got some new monitor arms before Christmas and finally got around to setting them up. Had all these grand plans to make it really clean with epic cable management but then realised some cables were too short, others too long and just too much going on. This will do lol. I'll give it another go when I build the new computer and will have to get a longer cable for the left monitor.

Also check how much those fan rings have yellowed. They used to be as white as the other lights!! Brother uuhhh looks so dirty.

5090 reviews, including for AIBs going up a week early. Strangely 5080 review embargo not lifted until release date. Negative nellies are already going on about it but I'm more thinking it's NVIDIA marketing trying to upsell as many 5090s as they can by keeping it in the media for a full week. If they then turn around and demonstrate a 5080 that's a bit better than or around 4090 performance and at a significantly cheaper price (relatively speaking) then that might chew into some potential 5090 sales. The best thing though is we'll get a look at a lot of the coolers that will also be on the 5080s.

This is why I was keen to see the Zotac cards. I really like their cooler designs but shame about the bronze finish, won't quite fit my theme. Also the Solid model is supposed to sell for around MSRP and will most likely shit on other MSRP models like Gigabyte Windforce.

Absolutely love these and will be the first things I try to add to cart but will most likely end up with something like the Vanguard or Gaming Trio. These will probably be so expensive that it would be more worthwhile just buying a 5090 (still a 5% chance I reach for a 5090).

I also only just learnt that the Strix will be exclusive to 5070 and 5070ti. I was a bit concerned brands like Asus were introducing more models to pad out the massive price gulf between the 5080 and 5090 but without a Strix on the 5080 (and 5090) it's a little more positive on the Astral pricing.
