Thats genuinely taking the p1ss , ridiculous sports resume .
I left out the ten state games, three Sturt B&Fs and the two grandkids that also captained Australia, in terms of legacy he's hard to beat. Where they've put his gates at the Oval is a disgrace. It looks like an afterthought.

George Pell played for Richmond??????

George Pell The Fox Sports article from 2017: The sentence "Richmond signed Pell as a ruckman in 1959 and he played for the club’s reserves" is incorrect.

George Pell never played for Richmond Seniors, Reserves, Under 19's, or even trained.

St Patrick's College Ballarat teammate journalist Paul Bongiorno says Pell “had speed, bulk and height he was tailor-made to be a ruckman”.

He signed for Richmond as a likely rucking prospect but declined the invitation as the lure of the priesthood won out and he went to Werribee seminary instead.

NRL champion Darren Lockyer was born in Brisbane, Queensland. His father, David, played Australian rules football for 10 years in Brisbane with Morningside and introduced Darren to the game at 4 years of age.

2 years later, Lockyer started playing Aussie rules for Springwood in Brisbane, finishing runner-up in the best and fairest award in his first season.

The following season he won the club's best and fairest award by 17 votes, despite having to travel 800 kilometres every weekend to play when the family moved to the small country town of Wandoan midway through the season.

He only switched to Rugby League at age 9 when his family relocated to Roma. ''I was devastated at the time. I learned the drop-punt and the handball at a young age,'' Lockyer told Sin Bin this week.

Lockyers' younger brother Mat won a B & F in 2011 for Yeronga South Brisbane Devils, who play in AFL Queensland's State Division 1.
Tipping the under 7s B&F in Queensland in the early 80s wasn't that hard to win.

From Rhett Bartlett, Richmond historian and son of Tigers legend Kevin Bartlett.

The sentence "Richmond signed George Pell as a Ruckman in 1959 and he played for the club’s reserves" is incorrect.

George Pell never played for Richmond Seniors, Reserves, Under 19's, or even trained. I can't confirm if he was signed for the club or not.
Statement made just after he left the shredding room, methinks.

Vic Richardson's career is always hard to beat Captained Australia at cricket, represented both state and country at baseball, district lacrosse player, state champion tennis player, three time premiership player and captain coach of Sturt and he won the 1920 Magarey medal.

Known to later generations for a decent whack out of Adelaide Oval cleared or bounced through the Victor Richardson Gates.

One of Richardsons daughters Jeanne married a guy named Martin Chappell, so Richardsons grandkids Ian, Greg & Trevor went on to achieve fame on the cricket field.

Not what I'd call "famous" yet but Justin Clarke who retired from Brisbane due to concussion not long ago just got awarded a Rhodes scholarship. He's doing a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering Science at Oxford’s Thermofluids Institute, modelling hypersonic pulse tunnels.

Nick Stone who played for Hawks and St Kilda founded Bluestone Lane which is a very successful "Australian style" coffee franchise in the US.

Kane Cornes became a fireman
For a fortnight.

Andrew Welsh? (Apologies if he's been said already) he's worth >$100m now as a property developer. https://www.realestate.com.au/news/former-bomber-andrew-welsh-among-top-25-young-and-rich/

imagine being 'famous' for being a scumbag property developer - wouldn't be many more ways to make a less honest dollar

How's he racist? Can I have some examples?

Sam Newman: What sort of monkey would be marrying that woman? Ah that monkey right there.
Brendan Fevola: You can't call him a monkey.
Sam Newman: This doesn't go to Malaysia this program, does it?... That man is not long out of the forest.
— Channel Nine, AFL Footy Show, 17th September, 2009

then proceeds to compare a photo of Serena Williams to said 'monkey'
