If it gets called Crown Perth Stadium, I'll be dirty.

Especially appropriate if they play a Christmas Day BBL game thereVirgin Perth.

Won't happen in my opinion! Either Roe 8 will still go ahead as contracts have been signed and if Labor try to can it, they will have law suits on their hands which won't be cheap. Also think Turnbull & Co will make it difficult for the Labor party to secure the financial funds unless Roe 8 goes ahead? Politics will come into play (how unusual)!!Both Victoria and QLD Labor governments are on track to being one term governments. McGowan didnt really win this election, it was all Liberals/Barnett falling over, so he's got to do a fair bit to boost his own popularity and credibility. His first hurdle will be to cancel the Roe 8 contracts while securing those Federal funds that would have gone to Roe 8.
You know this of course without doubtBad luck Julie.
A protest vote would not have looked like this. McGowan sure looked like a winner last night.
It will be very easy for anyone to do the time honoured thing in WA - demonise the federal government. If Turnbull sticks with the Abbott agenda regarding Roe 8, your seat of Curtin will be the only blue seat in WA in 2 years time.
You know this of course without doubt
I couldn't agree with you more regarding your last comment. Too far to the right (Libs) and too far to the left (Labor) is not going to get you very far in today's political climate.About this not just being a protest vote? Would have had a higher vote for the minor parties. The vote essentially went from Liberals to Labor.
About McGowan blaming the federal government? I don't bet, but I'd bet on this.
About the WA Libs getting wiped out if they don't stick up for their state? No, of course I don't know. It was a prediction, just like yours that Roe 8 is going to continue.
I just don't know why Turnbull would be so enamoured with the Roe extensions. It's a dumb idea. It's Tony Abbott's baby. Sooner or later Turnbull will have to do something he believes in, instead of caving to the far right, who hate him anyway. The state election should show him that the Australian electorate likes moderates.
Lawyers will be salivatingWon't happen in my opinion! Either Roe 8 will still go ahead as contracts have been signed and if Labor try to can it, they will have law suits on their hands which won't be cheap.
Another West Coast fan making stuff up. How am I pro-unemployment?
Gina has benefitted from the hard work of her father, who also benefitted from the largesse of Western Australians essentially giving away their minerals. She has worked hard too and good luck to her.
Packer is benefitting from being the only casino/slot machine operator in Perth, and will also benefit from having the stadium at his doorstep, without having to pay a farthing for it. If he then gave a comparatively paltry sum to get naming rights and make it appear that the stadium is part of the casino complex, I think that would be a very poor look.
Clem, the people you criticise employ lots of people ... employment is regarded as an entitlement by many & both Gina & Packer do employ many - that Governments of both colours could have done a better job is simply moving the goalposts, e.g I put it to you that every person who has sat in the House of Reps since 2008 has been a failure, but that's got squatt to do with Gina or Packer.
Personally I'd prefer the stadium naming rights are not sold.
This is a very confused answer. Are all employers (big employers more than small businesses) therefore to be beyond criticism? The meth industry employs a lot of dealers.
I think my criticism was very mild, by the way. The profits that the Hancock and Wright families managed to generate were so extreme because they were given a very (too) favourable deal by the government of the time.
Did you disagree that Crown Stadium Perth would be an inappropriate name?
Confused answer or doesn't fit your pseudo political view of the world?
Criticism is fine where due, trouble with the political warrior types is its transparent ... one way traffic.
& no, I wouldn't like Crown Stadium, very much anti gambling in my own life. Its a free world though, I suspect you were anti Kerry Packer in his media days too ...
You are reading too much into my comments. Read again what I have said about Packer and the casino before you attribute thoughts to me. Clue - not much.
And "pseudo political"? "criticism is transparent - one way traffic"? You don't make any sense.
How about that stadium hey ... looks pretty sweet.
No you don't, you're just a sook.I do understand you .... as would anyone who posts regularly on this thread.
Labor are going to pick up the whole thing and swing it 9.4 metres to the left.Might be a dumb question but does the recent election change anything with the stadium?
