JP & LJ contract moves will be only the beginning of Howie's toe tapping heading forward & while it's only a game, Madden does give an insight - I've trialed Madden 21 franchise mode with the Eagles & while their cap situation was really bad heading into 2020, looking forward to 2021, man, it's ****ing diabolical. We all better pray Howie has got some new improved gangster moves in store because right now to get under the cap & with all the bullshit covid will almost certainly deliver to the salary cap, yeah, 'magician' doesnt begin to describe the skills that will be necessary.

its the same most years though. When I looked at spotrac at the end of last season we were projected to be I think 40 mil OVER the cap for 2020. By the time they go through retirements, trades, cuts, re-structures, they can do a lot to cut/move forward $ ..... except when you guarantee the rest of Alshons contract for god knows what reason .... Alshon must have photos!

Yeah but this year it's ~90mil last time I checked, howies been kicking the can for while now, it's got to catchup eventually.

Projected 63 mil over at the moment for 2021, not sure if that is updated with LJ's changed deal. They should be able to somehow dump/stretch Alshon, no guarantee BG will be here next season (Esp at 18 mil cap hit). So that covers half of it.

but they have replaced literally everyone in charge of the fitness/medical side during the last 2 seasons so NFI

Perhaps it's something to do with Peterson and the way he conducts camp then? Agree with STO ,it's happened too often now to just be bad luck.

Should bench Wentz for week 2. Up 17-10, easily within fg range, instead of taking sack easy within fg range, tries to dodge the player then loses more yards and fg attempt doesn't make the distance. After that don't look close to scoring and get demolished.

That's being too kind on Wentz. He first threw two interceptions that were wholly on him to hand them their 'get back into the game' scores when the defence was pitching a first half shut out. He then proceeded to miss every single throw for the second half, and fail to read any blitz from the line.

I've been a big fan, but my patience is running out with him. This happens too ****ing often.

Yeah that's why they should bench him and see if he improves his play after that. If not time to look for a replacement

I'm surprised they didn't trade him for a high pick after the super bowl win to reload.
You don't trade an MVP calibre QB (and that's what he was a few years ago).....there aren't many around and there are less available

Wow people turn quick.

While Wentz was far from perfect, he had a couple of decent throws dropped by butterfingers recievers (Ertz I am looking at you), and no decent RB support.

Plus that O-line is atrocious, and got even worse when young Driscoll went down hurt. You could trot out a podcast crew OLine of Blacky at LG, fuey at RG and Brasher at LT and we'd probably have more success.

With that OL that we currently have, I give Wentz 6 quarters before he gets hurt again.

Also, quietly, that Washington D is very bloody much improved. Credit where credit is due.

That is far too kind on the interceptions that he threw. He doesnt throw the one before the half, we win. Despite all of that.

He blew this for us. There's no other way around it. That was not an elite quarterback performance, and he's on elite money.

I think some of you are slightly over reacting based on it being Washington.

Of course Wentz has had better games. But he had one o-lineman playing in the same position that they were practicing in 3 weeks ago. He had 2 WRs that he's had more than one game with - one of whom seems to suck (JJAW), the other a journeyman (Ward); he was relying heavily on 2 rookie receivers that he's had no game-time reps with, one of whom appears to have replaced Agholor as ironhands (Hightower); and our coaching staff let him down in the RB department by having such a lack of options after Sanders, Scott and Clement... 2 of whom have been on (and off) the roster bubble for years.

And yet none of that justifies the terrible interceptions and constantly missed passes.

It wasn't NFL standard, let alone franchise standard. He's been around a long time now. He needs to be accountable for his own play, I'm sick of coddling him.

An elite QB wins that game from where we were. He was the reason we lost.
