Although:Going for best available as opposed to any sort of positional needs.
He seems to be a real astute thinker of the game, rather than catchphrases and #demonspiritAlways feel so much more confident listening to JT than any other Melbourne employee lol
Did he say KPF, or did he say KPP? And then followed it up with the inclusion of "smalls" in the context of the evenness of the pool.Although:
"Does KPF come into it?"
"I think so"
Yep, right you are.Did he say KPF, or did he say KPP? And then followed it up with the inclusion of "smalls" in the context of the evenness of the pool.
I just took away that its best available, whoever that might be.
Where is anyone saying we aren't interested in Draper? If it's true, I'd really struggle to get my head around why we don't have interest in Draper. You could easily make the argument that he brings more of what we need/what the modern game requires than any other prospect in the top-10. Would be ridiculous if he slipped through to St Kilda's pick.
Twomey (and others) keep re-hashing that our interest is in Langford, FOS, Tauru and Lalor.
I just read it. Ashcroft going at P5! That'd be a dream result for the lions! The Fox sports mock had Draper listed as a possibility for us if Tauru, Langford and FOS were taken which could well happen. I mean, even the four that Cal has linked to us could go 1-4. I'm sure Sid is around the mark for us, but maybe isn't our absolute top priority.
Reid is definitely growing on me.My order of preference for the first selection is:
1) Lalor
2) FOS
3) Tauru
and then take Reid with our second selection.
Carlton is heavily linked to him, I wonder if the lack of interest isn't so much a lack of interest but probably knowing that he will be off the table and therefore putting more effort into other players. If it's true, I'd really struggle to get my head around why we don't have interest in Draper. You could easily make the argument that he brings more of what we need/what the modern game requires than any other prospect in the top-10. Would be ridiculous if he slipped through to St Kilda's pick.
Thanks, the video is embedded. I believe in JT hope he nails them both. Here's the JT interview:
Talent, not type, to drive Demons' first-round calls
Melbourne will take the best players available rather than pursuing a particular position in Wednesday night's first round of the 2024 Telstra AFL Draftwww.afl.com.au
EDIT: sorry, it's not the vid as I thought, just the write-up
About the only thing we have done well, consistently, is drafting. Whoever JT takes, i'll have absolute blind faith that he knows what he's doing. Thanks, the video is embedded. I believe in JT hope he nails them both.
After a million phantoms insisting that Tauru really is North's guy, surprise surprise, it looks like they aren't actually going to use 2 on a guy generally rated outside the top 6.Cal Twomey's Phantom Draft: Top 30, late picks, whispers - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1256531
Langford and Allan would be a solid outcome. As A11dAtP0w3R said yesterday, you could start one forward, one back, and have both rotating through the midfield initially.Cal Twomey's Phantom Draft: Top 30, late picks, whispers - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1256531
Seems like a solid chance Tauru could even slip through to 9.Langford and Allan would be a solid outcome. As A11dAtP0w3R said yesterday, you could start one forward, one back, and have both rotating through the midfield initially.
Looks like my dreams of Smith or Draper are fading, but I'd be much happier with Langford than I would be Tauru.
