Are always dud picks no player picked up with these numbers ever amounts to anything.

All picks before and afterwards seem to come off, but for some reason these four always end in tragedy......

Just off the top of my head at the Dogs

Brad Johnson was 8

Pick 8 2000 draft Daniel Motlop - Motlop will be a star in the coming years just have a look towards the end of this season, he was amazing.

Pick 9 2002 darft Hamish McIntosh - His been killing them in the vfl and has just turned 18, his 201cm tall and can play forward/ruck his a marking maching. all he needs is a big preseason under his belt......

Pick 7 2001 draft David Hale - Basically the same as McIntosh 200cm ruck/forward......

And I sure there's plenty of other players from other clubs.

I would say Pick 3 has never lived up to expectiation, apart from judd.

I think there has been:
Fiora,
Croad
Hilton (Bris)
Allan Didak - this one is probably 50/50.

Josh Carr #7 in 1998 is the best I can do off the top of my head.

1997:
7 Kris Massie
8 Chris Tarrant
9 Chad Cornes
10 Shane O'Bree

1998:
7 Josh Carr
8 Jude Bolton
9 Mark McVeigh
10 Brandon Hill (?)

1999:
7 Danny Roach (lol)
8 Joel Corey
9 Caydn Beetham
10 Luke McPharlin

2000:
7 Laurence Angwin
8 Daniel Motlop
9 Kayne Pettifer
10 Jordan McMahon

2001:
7 David Hale
8 James Bartel
9 Luke Molan
10 Sam Power

2000 is clearly the worst. 1997 is quite good.

Nice work un_zero42.

Players established in best 22 at any club:
Tarrant, Cornes, O'Bree, Massie, Carr, Bolton, McVeigh, Corey, McPharlin, Motlop. 10/20 is a pretty good effort, with some standouts being Tarrant, Cornes, Carr and Bolton.

2001 is still to early to call, except for Molan who is a dud. The other three should be evaluated after next season.

I stand by my claim and 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 ANdrew Mackie, Luke Brennan, Hamish McIntosh and Jason Laycock Prove my point.....

You can stand by it all you like but maybe you should give last years draftees more than a year before you start including them in your argument. By including Laycock and the like you only hinder your argument because you look foolish for including players that haven't had much of a chance to prove you wrong.

Hey yeah how is David Hale going?
we were talking about him while lining up for GF tickets the other week....

last time i saw him he fractured shannon rusca's skull......

hope hes doing well certianly the best young bloke going around the state league @ the time of being drafted...

Martin Pike (9 in 1992)
Chris Johnson (7 in 1993)
Blake Caracella (10 in 1994)

v

Simon Prestigiacomo (10 in 1995)
Chris Tarrant (8 in 1997)
Shane O'Bree (10 in 1997)

Although I like 1986
7 - Chris Lindsay
8 - Grant Fielke
9 - Andrew Payze
10 - John Brinkkotter

you can't judge blokes drafted in 2002 yet. mcintosh was hot property going into the 2002 draft and has done nothing but enhance his claims for a spot - possibly next year and definately 2005 - in the vfl this year. we drafted him with a look to the future and he's very much part of it

Jury still out on Jordon IMO, looks good, flashy, has his weaknesses.

Sam Power will be a good player, we were lucky to get him at 10.
