Congrats to all involved in what was a great day at the weir . Mathoura lost by about 5 goals to Waaia who had plenty out as did Mathaz . The margin between Dookie and Yarraweyah was pretty similar in Dookie's favour with both appearing to be a tad closer to full strength . Wouldn't be surprised if the weir are a bit stronger than some may think , with some real good young kids who might wreak havoc with a couple years of experience .

Went and watched the berrigan v waaia game at barooga fri night, they only played a half of footy before the power went out in barooga which ended the game lucky it came back on 1/2 an hour later for the other game to be played. Not sure if berrigan had a full side bout the score at half time was 12 goals to 2 waaia's way,waaia looked a very good side but you can never judge pre season games too much but the big full forward Cowan kicked a lazy 7 in the first half and loked in good nick.

Interesting to see some late clearances coming through just before round 1. Craig Brown and Matt Cameron to Berrigan, Brenton Flemming to Blighty, Kirby to Jerilderie and Arthur Rootsey to Yarroweyah. Can anyone share some information about some of these players?

yes Superspeed, I saw the Blighty and Jerilderie game and it was a pretty one sided affair! Jerilderie were very quick and skilled and their fitness was far better then Blighty's. Jerilderie have started red hot while Blighty have a lot of work to do.
Did anyone see the Berrigan vs Yarra game.Huge win for the Saints with a number of their new players featuring in the goals and best players, not only in the seniors but in the magoos, ,, or have the Grasshoppers slipped that much ?
Anyway, big test comimg up for the Saints in the next 2 weeks having to play Deni rovers and then Jerilderie.

Purcell should have been a great player in a major league , his ability has been wasted in picola league . He should have tested himself against stronger opposition over many years. He should be just starting his minor league career he would still be a dominant player. What year did he win a o&m grand final off his own boot
Reckon he is in a better position than anyone to judge where and when he should play where . Maybe he achieved all he wished at O&m level ?

Hey ark I reckon Purcell could threaten Bode's 31 goals (in a single game record from a few years back) against 1 of the sides they play over the next few weeks! & with Bode as his new coach it will be interesting viewing! If he gets close Bodey might just tell him to take a rest on the pine or Bodey himself might convince Big Purcey to take a week off so he can slot himself in the goal square!! The next few weeks will be interesting!!
So with Interleague just over 3 weeks away can anyone put up a potential squad/team? & who does the NW Division play?? I heard the game could be at Optus Oval/Visy Park (or whatever it is called nowdays?)

You cannot be impartial because you are employed by the league,Purcell made his decision many years ago always had the ability maybe not the work ethic. All I am saying its a shame he had the ability to play afl but wanted to be a big fish in a little ocean lets be honest picola nw not a strong league
Hey NFB maybe instead of putting the bloke down why don't you try use some initiative & say how good it is for some of these well respected players that very easily could & should play at a higher level but instead play in the lower leagues to help raise the bar in standards!! Hey he could've just as easily gave the game away also but atleast the big fella still gets out there on a saturday! & on current form I think he's still doing a pretty good job!! Just sayin....
