You cannot be impartial because you are employed by the league,Purcell made his decision many years ago always had the ability maybe not the work ethic. All I am saying its a shame he had the ability to play afl but wanted to be a big fish in a little ocean lets be honest picola nw not a strong league
Not sure that is the correct terminology but anyway let's run with that . Now being of similar vintage , maybe a tad younger , and having also played a bit with some that have had equal ability in a major league or two , I'd suggest is not uncommon at all , for players to not play major league whilst still capable . Not everyone is that uptight about there sport and as they get older tend to play it or the enjoyment factor . Which includes a little bit on field lip sevice which Purc is most certainly competent in and a fan of .

Hey NFB maybe instead of putting the bloke down why don't you try use some initiative & say how good it is for some of these well respected players that very easily could & should play at a higher level but instead play in the lower leagues to help raise the bar in standards!! Hey he could've just as easily gave the game away also but atleast the big fella still gets out there on a saturday! & on current form I think he's still doing a pretty good job!! Just sayin.... :thumbsu:

Can tell you don't have to play against him anymore!!!

IIRC captain Coached Katty to a couple of flags , current Katty coach . Good bloke .
Yeah ok so it is the current Katty coach! I thought there was a whisper a few weeks back that an ex Waaia coach was going to do it as they where going to try head down the path of having the Interleague coach be someone that wasn't currently coaching a side in the comp?? Was that initially the plan?? :thumbsu:

So with Interleague just over 3 weeks away can anyone put up a potential squad/team? & who does the NW Division play?? I heard the game could be at Optus Oval/Visy Park (or whatever it is called nowdays?)

Do they need a squad????
Could probably just get the Jerilderie side to represent the NW league as they are looking the goods!

No doubt they will have some players put their hands up to play rep footy. they had 4 or 5 guys play last year and i would expect the same again this year. :thumbsu: All clubs should encourage their younger players who are up to it to give it a go.:thumbsu:

My time has past unfortunately, I am sure Purcell has had a great career but it could have been so much more in my opinion, he had serious ability!

NFB, instead of passing judgement on decisions made years ago why not look at decisions being made now by young players and use your experience to help, i say that cautiously as i aint sure you know how. I see you are a fan of the Crowe boys. Well hasn't Reid dropped back from OMFL to MFl??? MFL ain't that great a standard so best you go sort that out and leave Purcell to concentrate on booting a double tonne and in so doing inspiring the depth of young talent in the PDFNL.

If your thinking picola league and murray league are similar your dreaming, as for the Crowe boys they too are great talents

Where in my post did I compare picola and murray league??? I didn't so before having a crack at me get your facts straight!!!!
It is blatantly obvious I was comparing MFL with OMFL. Fair call in my opinion.
Next, nice dodge on the Crowe boys but you haven't indicated whether you are prepared to do something to ensure the talent doesn't go to waste in the MFL.......

Or will you wait until years down the track and declare publicly how those boys shoulda been....blah blah blah ?????

Pretty good squad there, just a matter of seeing who will actually commit to playing. A lot of the boys do enjoy the week off but as you say hopefully most players that are selected and their clubs get behind it.

The benefit of the general bye over the long weekend will hopefully see players play who normally wouldn't die to enjoying a week off ?
