Think Dookies season is on the line this week. Might seem like a stupid statement but with a loss to tunga then a trip to shepp east next week could see dooks fall 0-3 if they go down and then still to play waaia and rennie. If dookie want to finish top 3 they need to bounce back this week. Cant see it happening but, feel the younger legs at katandra will be to much in the warmer conditions. Katandra by 9points

I would think rennie's budget would be similar to that of waaia and tunga's, and a fair amount less than shepp east's (and half their luck if they can raise the $ to put such a team on the park). Don't know about the other clubs $. No crisis talks just yet but a few of the boys need to pull their fingers out and their heads in on yesterday's performance. A fair bit of footy is played between the ears. Katunga were mentally tougher and more disciplined. They were first to the ball all day. All credit to them and they are a good bunch of blokes. Rennie boys just too confident and waited for other blokes to do the hard work. I will say that Katandra are a better footy team than Katunga on what I've seen the last two weeks. The rennie boys attitude was just so different to last week. Rennie could have pinched it, going in at three quarter time with a lead. If they had of won, then whacked a struggling Katty next week than they would have faced tunga after easter way ahead of themselves and likely to get a real beating. Katunga will win games if they play like they did yesterday. They have some very good players. I think they lost 3 blokes to injury in the first quarter last week against Waaia so that may explain the scoreline. Interesting scores in the other matches. May be a long year for Katty. Surprised to see Dookie not starting too well. Must have been a ripping game at Shepp East. Are Tunga a better team than last year, or have Shepp come back to the pack a bit?

big news for later on in the year ex afl and o&m premiership player and yarrawonga coach craig ednie to be paid 10 grand to play the last 6 games for rennie when he comes back from overseas... can you confirm this plague??

yeah the old body pulled up good. it helps when ya dont get a kick and whats the go with jarrod best in the back pocket bit surprised there thought that was a waste of a good player haha and the other best brother absolutley turned it on and dominated.. oh and wash if i was u id be havin a word to your coach tellin him to have a word with tony gillespie he was an absolute dirty dog imo...

yeah gambi i was at the game and i did see jarrod best down the backline,maybe his old legs are slowing up. very windy at shepp east i would say a 6 goal breeze going down one end, looks like east and tunga are the pace setters again but definetly a much closer top 4 or 5 teams this year than previous

What is $100K to a district football club?

Each member of the starting 21 of the Senior side could be paid $264.55 for each home and away game.

It is also 1111 people coming to each of your 9 home games and paying their $10 to get in. (or buying a yearly membership)

28571 cans of heavy beer @ $3.50 a can/pot.

Or just two $50000 sponsors for the year.

I would like to think that if a club is paying this sort of money they would be able to sustain this cash flow over a period of time, dominate our league and then progress onto a higher league such as the MFL. Clubs like Mansfield, Barooga, Rumbalara, Mulwala and Congupna have shown that they have been able to do this (Not implying that their books were at an equivalent $100K in their minor league days). Probably no reason why another one couldn't follow.

Ive actually heard this rumor also.... Any truth to it?

Makes you think that if Rennie are looking to fork out so much money at the end of the season for a quality player that they arent too confident with their existing stock to do the job?? Or have they already paid Craig so he can enjoy an overseas trip??

Just to put it into perspective thats $1666 per game, just think if Craig was available to play the whole season, would he be getting paid a total of $30k ?? puts Rennies budget right up there, no disrespect to Craig he is a quality player but what do the other Rennie players think about this after they slog away all season and he comes along at the end to enjoy the spoils of their hard work for a rather large payday??

happy to address your question skillz. uppercut's "source" is at least partially closer this time with this rumour than the brilliant plucking of the 100k figure out of his backside (and thanks flag for putting some levity to the argument). i believe that rennie have bunged it on ednie to play at the end of the year..... just like probably 20 other clubs! the coach helped him out at yarra and is looking for a return of the favour. ednie is still on yarra's list - has not been cleared anywhere. ednie will make a call before june 30. he may just come back and help yarra out. if rennie keep serving up performances like last saturday he won't need to come because there'll be no finals series! ednie has some good mates out there, his uncle and cousin are involved, and his grandfather played there as well so a few links. but there are plenty of reasons why this won't happen. i personally doubt it will. and on rumours, i heard it was 20k to come out so there you go uppercut. newsflash - there aint a pot of gold at rennie so ease up on the ridiculous figures. would the other players be happy to have him for a few games? are you nuts? of course they'd want him. wouldn't your mob have him?

yeah the boys have got off 2 a good start, was feeling good leading up to rd1 but the body already feels like its played 20 odd games, dont recover as quick as the good old "YOUNG" days hahaha

A very close but good win by the eagles on sat, how were the boys on the hill celebrating their 2001 10th anniversary premiership? Did they get abit loud & messy towards the end of the game??

Gee the Tunga v Waaia clash is fairly mouth watering. Should be some great match ups all around the ground. One thing I noticed last Sat was that Sidey didn't take part atfer 1/2 time for Tunga. Is he injured or was the coach not happy with him? I would suspect the first coz he gives them a heap of drive from back there. If he is injured and unavail, this would impact ssignificantly on their ability to contain waaia's scoring power. Also will impact on their ability to create attack from defence. Anyway, he is still one player and Tunga have got plenty of class so it should be a rip snorta!!!
Shepp East could effectively derail Dooks hopes for a top 3 finish on Sat. I'm sure Feldts would have liked to be better than 0-2. Heard he didn't play last week. Brownsake can confirm. Will he take to the field this week? He seemed to have missed quite a few since taking over the reigns out there. I'm sure they would have banked on him playing more than he has coz he is really important to their set up. Will be good to see big Maso go head to head with Ozzie this week. I see too that O'Donnell is back for them too. He'll add some hardness and pace. So looking forward to a good clash.

Tim seems to miss 2 much footy which does hurt the side hopefully he will be back this week. Should be a good game if dookie respect the classy east players but i cant see dookie getting within 5-7 goals of east.

The dookie teams are just struggling to find there best form atm with 4ths 2nd and 1st not winning a game and only 1 netball win out of the past 2 weeks.
Massive day for the club to bounce back but its probably the toughest place to do it.
