Because of their age, Cousins and Chick are dispensible - they helped to provide a premiership for the Coast, now they will be dropped like turds. For West Coast, it's only ever been about the 4 points.

ALL those previous posts spelt out what a druggie, yet WEASELS couldn't see how wrong Benny the Bummer was or how the AFL protected him with the three strike clause.
NOW the AFL should really DUMP that stupid clause and let the cops nail the druggies.

Can they sack him prior to him being convicted? Like everyone, he is innocent until proven guilty so sacking him may result in a wrongful dismisal case?
I imagine he will be suspended indefinately pending the court case.
I'd have thought refusing a blood test would be grounds for dismissal.

Blind Freddy can see he's been on the juice for years. Couldn't run away this time so just refused a test.
Police should be allowed to forcibly extract a sample.

I think the AFL will ask West Coast not to sack him so they can do it as a warning to all players, stuff up again WE'LL SACK YOU!
AFL should be waiting outside the station to drug test him ASAP.
Guaranteed positive test.

Come on mate, i'm all for second chances, and third chances, and forth chances, and fifth chances. But you have to draw the line somewhere, and if this latest incident is drug related I cannot see how the Eagles can keep him around, especially with the AFL threats hanging over our heads.
I supported Ben when he went to rehab for his substance abuse problems, i've been on this site plenty of times defending our club again moronic bitter posters from other clubs, but for god sake, Cousins cannot be given any more leniency if this incident is drug related.
That's not to say I don't feel sorry in a way for the guy, he just lost one of his best friends and is dealing with some pretty heavy stuff, and i've seen drug addicts relapse before, but eventually you just run out of chances. I cheered with everyone else when he retuned, believing but that this time he would keep himself clean, at least for one off season.

He has not been found guilty by the AFL for drug use. Therefore under AFL rules if he is convicted in this instance, he will still have two more chances before he is barred.

Ben has played everyone for fools.
Forcing a test is against civil liberties, however refusing one is a show of guilt in most courts. Unless there is a fairly viable answer, which there isn't in this case, he will be found guilty.
However on other threads I believe this charge has been removed.
For a start because you are in Melbourne, you have no idea what has been happening in Perth especially with the death of Chris Mainwaring.
It has been a nightmare for many here in Perth whoa are close to the EAGLES - with a parasite MEDIA who cannot survive unless they suck like parasites, - like humans have to suck for oxygen.
Can you see no reason here. The media sees Ben Cousins like another gasp for oxygen.
Crikees if I was under the kind of pressure that Ben Cousins was under one would consider something quite nasty to various MEDIA.
It is obvious that Ben's illogical decision making is just that - under extreme pressure.

I'm a big Ben Cousins fan, he's one of the best players I've seen, but I think the time has come for Ben and football to part company. He's had enough chances and it's foolhardy for people to blame anyone else but Ben for the predicament he finds himself in.
