My boy TJ Watt is something else. Blew Mixon up for a TFL, then on the following play picks Burrow off at the line of scrimmage. Purchased his colour rush jersey about a month back. Worth every penny. Freak
No he wasn’t, missed some throws and got very lucky when scrambling for that first down that Hendrickson didn’t knock it loose from behind. He had no awareness that someone was behind him, just strolled forward toward the sideline when he had every chance to get down the field and really make use of those legs. I would have been calling for Kenny straight away had that ball been set free and Bengals recoveredTrubisky wasnt very good today tho.
Tomlin said pickett WILL BE backup all year, learning the ropes. I both understand/agree and dislike that proclamation. Is that so? I haven’t heard/read that. Find that hard to believe. What happens if we are staring down a 3-7 start to the season, Mitch hasn’t done much and the offense in general has been poor? I’d hate for us to red shirt Kenny under ANY circumstance and label him as a 2022-2023 backup Tomlin. Time will tellTomlin said pickett WILL BE backup all year, learning the ropes. Trubisky’s throw to Johnson over the middle where he got intercepted was deflating to say the least. Never looked off the defender. Trubisky had eyes for Johnson the minute the ball was snapped and never looked elsewhere, easy pick. The sack he took from Judon when scrambling to the far sideline was just a head scratcher too. Why not throw it away? Why not air it out downfield and see what these bigger receivers (Claypool/Pickens) can do? See what magic and spark it could have provided maybe IF a play was made. He’s a very vanilla QB and our defense won’t get 5 takeaways each week to bail him out-Just as I pointed out after our Cincy win. Like you touched on, we need some spark, some wow moments. When watching other teams play offense I’m sitting there just wishing we had a fraction of the play calls/throws that everyone else seems to have. It’s tough viewing, it really isTrubisky is the problem imo. Hes a flatliner. Doesnt provide sparks, no playmaking ability, thus offense lackluster and team has to rely on D to keep scores down. Reckon Pickett should be the starter, hes got more chutzpah, can make things happen.
Yeah those are just two plays from today, tho there were a lot more really. Week 1 and 2 it's obvious to everyone but Tomlin that Trubisky is merely a capable backup. I would've not even signed him as we already had Rudolph who is similarly capable (ie, incapable).Trubisky’s throw to Johnson over the middle where he got intercepted was deflating to say the least. Think it'll be a close game given both teams' weaknesses (at QB especially). The real battle will be between Cade York and Chris Boswell for most FGs and/or least FGs missed.Week 3 almost upon us for us Steelers. This is a very winnable game no doubt about it. I’m expecting a heavy dose of Chubb/Hunt running the ball so our run D needs to stiffen up. No Clowney for the Brownies helps our OL who surprisingly haven’t been too bad to start the season, both in pressures/sacks conceded and penalties. It’s time to see Trubisky target a few more players deep to back the defense up, start using Pickens more and attack the middle of the field more often. How much any of that happens tomorrow on a short week is anyone’s guess. An interesting game coming up, if we don’t slow down their run game, it may be a long day
Definitely. A close game and a low total I’m expectingThink it'll be a close game given both teams' weaknesses (at QB especially). The real battle will be between Cade York and Chris Boswell for most FGs and/or least FGs missed.
The offense is hot garbage right now and all it seems to be is run the ball here and there, sprinkled in with some Johnson out routes. It’s pedestrian and it’s becoming harder to watch. I was optimistic before the season started that we would be alright, that we could maybe go 9-8,10-7 with some luck but that’s not happening. You’re right, when your offense is putting up around 200 yards total it makes it hard to defend. We’ve scored what, 23 (With a pick 6), 17 & 17 points over the first 3 weeks. We haven’t played what I’d consider decent teams either. We still have all of the Bucs, Bills, Dolphins, Eagles to come before a bye. It’s going to get worse before it gets betterAll we heard in the off season was how Roethlisberger held back Canada abd his offensive playbook. How a new more mobile QB would bring the best out of it. Really havent seen anything to warrant that perception. Moving forward, this team has to be more dynamic offensively to account for the poor D. Have to be to try to win games where we cant rely on the D to make a stop anymore. A shootout caliber offense. We're not gonna win much accruing 200 yards per game and zero TD passes
