Numbers are not sourced from anywhere, AFC website has not updated. It's Wikipedia, anyone can put on their own numbers.

True but they've change some around with Smith going to 3 from 33. Will be interesting anyway if these are close..

That's because there isn't any due dates. It's up to each club to assign as they like.

I wouldn't expect anything finalised until the 2016 List has been finalised - so after the draft.

Rookie draftees usually get what is left over, and get a secondary announcement.

99% of the time I agree.
I hated Sloane 31 ---> 9
I hated Dangerfield 19 ---> 32
I hated Martin 41 ---> 36
I hated Gallman ?? ---> 34
I hated Petrenko 33 ---> 23
I hated Cameron 42 ---> 23

I don't like giving a player the same number as a great because they're good and will live up to the number (Sloane, Dangerfield), because they supposedly play similar (Martin) come from the same SANFL club (Gallman) or are of the same race (Petrenko, Cameron)

I like having players make a name in a number.

If Sloane goes on to be the next Boomer Harvey and play 400 games, that relegats Edwards a little to a side note.
I would rather every player go 'why be the next Mark Ricciuto when I can be the first Joe Smith' and make the number their own.

I'd rather Sloane make 31 a famous number for the club rather than carrying on 9.

Having said that. Andrew/Darren and Brad/Matt is one exception I could make. I know it's hypocritical. But yeah.

Hindsight makes me look the fool but I was spewing when Matty Wright changed from 47 to 11 (coincidentally, also when his form took a big nose dive), because I thought he could have made the 47 famous. 47 is a very unloved number in AFL, anyone wearing it has the potential to be the greatest 47 ever. A lot easier than being the greatest 11 ever.

Who gets 32? The player drafted with pick 9 or do we give it to Brad Crouch and let him run amok?

I would like to see Menzel with a small number (1, 2 or 3).

32 needs to go to a gun and Brad Crouch is the biggest midfield gun (potential) we have on the team.
