You don't just give away a pick 7 player two years later for a third rounder.

It stinks of a big fat boys club. The gcs have become the hawks feeder, and gws the Carlton one.

He's had zero form to speak of, has been poor in the NEAFL, talk of homesickness and some injury niggles. GC were convinced he wouldn't be a regular for them

H
You made me go and watch video of Williams. He looks alright, very athletic, takes players on and a decent size too.

Best of all though, he will be a cult figure. He looks like a giant Cameron Ling and this weakness* noted by Knightmare - Often drops simple uncontested marks - means he will attract massive attention. Bring him in!

*Before people lose their shit too much, his list of strengths is pretty impressive:
Impact per possession
Leap
Agility
Acceleration
Attacks the ball in flight for marks
Body control aerially
Leaps over opposing ruckmen at ruck contests
Gets first hands on it in the ruck almost every time
Production
Capability to play both as a ruckman and key forward
Leading patterns
Timing of leads

How tall?

Unsure if reported but yesterday on the radio Tredrea reported the Pittard transfer was purely and simply a salary dump, and that it's going to happen a lot more often in the AFL.
Are we sure that Port are continuing to pay half his salary?
I was under the impression that we had a fair cap leeway anyway.
Are we preparing for a surprise big name signing?

Could be a big name, could be we've got a few people coming out of contract next season. Houston, Howard, Hombsch, Watts, Westhoff, Ryder, Bonner, Gray x2, Jonas, Clurey, Boak, Farrell............ you'd think some of those guys would be getting a pay rise next year, and the Dees won't be paying any of Watt's salary.

We are not paying half his salary!!! It was suggested by one dickhead, and taken up as gospel by posters here, happy to bang another nail in the Port coffin!

If an employee pulled the homesick card in just about any other industry they'd be told to harden up or leave.

AFL players don't reflect wider society whatsover. Earning a fat pay packet but still prepared to break it over feeling homesick, cripes you're over 18 years old, thats what being paid 10 years worth of wages in a year should come with at a minimum.

Even the military changed the “harden up princess” 20 years ago

Now that May is definitely leaving Gold Coast, door must be open for Hombsch trade. Despite conflicting reports of a holiday visit yesterday, 9 news reported he had gone for a medical with Gold Coast.

God this trade period has been shit.

Action on the first two days then a week of listening to conjecture, false information and total hysterics, to then culminate in a one day shitfest, no doubt ordered by the AFL so they have something for their telecast.

Just make it three days or the whole off-season. This week and a half crap does nothing.
