need some advice have franklin, gia, didak chapman and riewoldt as my keeps in my forward line, ive got enough money to upgarde franklin to anyone i want cos i dont trust that hes gonna improve on last year. also other people got chapman because im concerned about his injury problems? just would like an opinion or three, cheers

mcdonald, i think hes got more of an upside, think ellis might have peaked last year. worst case scenario mcdonald scores the same as he did last year, he wont get any worse

i just thought that ellis would get more points than last year because of the injuries in hawthorn. with Mcdonald i think he can ave 80-85 because of the ball being so much n melb's d and so he would get alot of cheap possies, unlike when he was playing in brisbane

Masten (M4) + Rockliff (F7) v Trengove (M4) + Ballantyne (F7)

3 rookies starting, just depends where. I think the first combo would get me more points but Rockliff/Hitchcock/Gumby have less job security than Trengove.

I wouldn't go either, as they both have a lot of question marks. Masten may just not be suited to dt, Rockliff is on very thin ice as far as JS is concerned, and Ballas has injury concerns (although I do have him).

If I were to pick though I'd go the 2nd one.


Now, I have one decision left to finish off my team.

Should I go with Trengove as my bench mid, and have Wright as my 7th forward,
OR
downgrade Trengove to get a Jetta or Bastinac, which would allow me to switch Wright to Ben Warren?

I know, I don't know which of those combo's to choose! It's doing my head in.. My two other premiums in the midfield are J.Selwood and Bartel.. My other ruck is Sandilands. I can't decide. Ugh.

I like Bastinac and Shaw. I think Shaw may get pushed into the midfield if Kennelly/Malceski hold up which should only help his points. Bastinac I like, maybe because he is my bench rookie along with Shuey.

Hi Guys,

What's your opinion of Mackay this season as either a DT or SC prospect? Mackay priced at $320.8k in DT 18gms/73ave v Armitage $321.1k 3gms/91ave is doing my head in!

I have heard Lyon state that they will persist with Armitage and give him more games but how will that translate in TOG when he has to content with Goddard, Dal Santo, Hayes, Montagna, Jones & Gram who would all be in front of him in midfield duties? I see Armitage more as a DT player than SC.

Likewise I have heard Craig comment that Mackay will step up this year and become and 'elite' (IIRC that was the word he used) player like Vince did in 2010. Mackay has the engine to run all day and bar injury will play all 22 games and get more TOG but I don't think his ceiling is as high as Armitage.

I don't really see any other players from the $380k-$280k that have the potential to become a permanent and make the step up to 90-95pts each week.

Tough tough choice - I would probably downgrade somewhere to avoid this situation but if you must choose from those 3 - I think I would go Masten - you are gambling on Cotchin having a break out year and Palmer recovering from his knee reco so Masten would be the safter option IMHO.

My last choice is for the final mid bench spot....

Banner v Bastinac - its pretty much a coin toss so could do with some advice as to what other people think.

First option. Effectively gives you 5 rucks with MultiPos. Could be crucial if Hille goes down.
