My thoughts in bold. Dangerfield purely because he is less injury prone. Selwood/Bastinac because Selwood is a gun and Banner is not certain to be best 22.

Hall vs Gray?

Gray, despite Halls early form I think he will be up and down this year, Gray looks set to move into the midfield and potentially dominate.. I'm a huge fan of Gray though!!

Mine is:

3rd Forward: Brown, Pav, Higgins or Gia

3rd Defender: Broughton, Bock, Grimes, Gilbert or Goodwin?

i cannot decide on Xavier Ellis, he hasn't shown much pre-season but that could just be cotton wool tactics for the season proper, when on song he's an elite ball winner, who posted games of 33, 29 and 23 possessions, his scores when down were often padded by his marking and ferocious tackling ability. last year as we know was a terrible year for injuries for ellis and it was essentially ankle and foot ailments which were his undoing however if his body is right he can become a premium backman, he was number 3 pick in the 2005 draft he has ridiculous upside, but his injuries are concerning. obviously i am looking for him to play 22 games and be a keeper however if he plays the first half he will have gone up enough to trade out -- i hope. so what are your opinions on the bloke, do u have him and what are your thoughts on his dream team prospects this year. I just need some reassuring i guess. or do i go for birchall who is 22k more expensive and is a a reliable performer you know what you are going to get out of him. there is not as much upside but he is a consistent solid performer with 12 games of 19 with 20+ disposals. so which are your thoughts???

Kornes is finished, Cross' output will be much the same, but i just have a feeling that Jobe will have a great year

Hopefully my last dilemma:

Bartel or Vince (+$40k)

got vince but thinking about changing...

Definetely Bartel......very easy decision.

Vince has more downside than Upside, where as Bartel has plenty of upside. He averaged 114 and 113 in the last 2 years and will be back to those scores this year.

Fair enough, just going by Vince's end to last season 103, 121, 116, 134, 109, 95 thought that he may be due for a massive year similar to what we might expect out of bartel. Any news on how his injury is progessing?

This is the first I've heard of this.

Anybody care to comment????

I thought he was a 40+ possession player and a ball magnet???

Sorry didnt mean to be quite as blunt, still a good player but his scores have been dropping over the last 3 seasons and IIRC he is expected to play a different role this year so he may be risky

broughton or jack grimes?

currently have broughton.

I'd stick with Broughton, little more consistant in my opinion.

I've been tearing my hair out at this for so long that I'm going to use the combination the first person tells me to :)

2 of Stanton, Pendlebury, Boyd and Watson

hitchcock or rockliff

in other words whos going to play the first 8 games

(discount gumbleton because he will break even if he his best 22)

Please don't post a question without answering someone elses first, because then it just causes other people to post theirs again, which is what I am doing.

What do people think of these options? My team is mostly complete now, apart from a few small tweaks, and then just final rookie selections.

Currently I have:

Hargrave, Gram, Duffield, Stanton (Banner)

or Should I go:

1. Goddard, Shaw, Gilbert, Stanton (Bastinac)
2. Goddard, Shaw, Mackie, Gibbs (Bastinac)
3. Goddard, Shaw, Mackie, Selwood (Jetta)

All options leave me with <$1000 and the only other way to free up money would be to do Nason --> Silvagni or Gumbleton/Hitchcock to Podsiadly.

Thoughts?
Noticed this got no love - anyone?

Woops!

Looks like I did that just as you posted :D

IMO, out of those, I'd be going Boyd and Stanton. Boyd for his consitency, and Stanton for his durability and potential for huge scores. I think Pendles will be good again this year, but obviously may attract a tag. Not sure if he's the most durable player but really i'd toss a coin between him and stanton.

Watson - if you don't need the extra cash, I wouldn't go with him over the other 3.

That's ok bud - do you have 2 user names?

Thanks for the advice! Had Watson over Stanton but might go Stants because I had too much cash left over I think.

Gilbee VS Adcock VS Carazzo VS Harbrow + 40k VS none of them.

Need a 5th defender and dont particulary want to go with malceski/kennely

I'm torn between these decisions.
Masten vs Kerr vs Ziebell vs Medhurst (I think masten is the way to go)
Dal Santo vs Selwood vs Boyd vs Pendlebury (either way is a win but i think selwood is going to cop some real attention this year)
Harvey vs Higgins vs Ball (based on durability and price)

Just what i think

Hoping someone can help me out here.

Cheers!

PS: Thestinger - none of those players have been in any of my calculations at all, so I'm reluctant to advise on that one. Would lean towards McVeigh and Robinson though out of the 4.

Personally i would go Okeefe by a long shot, his pre season has been quite terrific, however he may move forward in the absence of Micky O and hall. Line ball but i think Okeefe

Yeah I wouldn't mind the extra 25K also. I can't actaully have Ball and Masten together cause i need to fill a forward and midfield spot so should it be
Masten + Harvey/Higgins vs Ball/A.Selwood + Ziebell/Medhurst
