But they do know. He is still under a mediacally induced coma. This doesn't mean it is life threatening. He is still listed in a critical condition but his condition has improved.

Are you being serious is he in an induced coma. He suffered a big knock yesterday in the game that may have affected his judgement. Taken in with critical head injuries, I really dont like the sound of that. He better be ok.

He is still in a medically induced coma. I thought the same thing as you initially by Ron confirmed that his knock yesterday was not to the head which is a relief.

I actually drove by this last night, 3 ambulances, 1 police car and a handful of badly shaken friends. Didn't realise it was Polak at the time. Hope he's ok.

I drove past at 11:50, and there were trams backed up and the ambos & police had their lights on as traffic was being diverted.

Looked pretty serious, and the girls were hysterical and the driver was pretty emotional too.

It was a city bound tram on the #5 line.

Mr Polak was crossing the road at the Orrong and Dandenong roads intersection in Armadale around 11.30 pm (AEST).

The 24-year-old Prahan man was treated by paramedics and taken to The Alfred hospital. He is believed to be suffering head injuries.

A hospital spokeswoman said Mr Polak was in a critical but stable condition.

Police have confirmed the man involved in the incident was the Richmond key position player.

My understanding that anybody in intensive care is automatically defined as critical. And anybody in an induced coma will be in intensive care.

Therefore he will remain "critical" while in the coma.
