1) its a metaphor.
2) way to misunderstand a metaphor
3) Experiences are subjective and are going to differ from person to person, and situation to situation.
4) Your messed up"cops are always wrong" approach is about as valid as my apparent "rambo" mentaltiy, so dont act all superior here chief.

Are there bad cops, sure. Ive just never met any of them - and Ive met a lot of them over the years, given I have to call them out 3-4 times a weekend on average over the last 6 years. Are there many drunken idiots who think they are top stuff? Are there many ******s who dont know the meaning of the word "complying" - You bet your arse.

I see.

They are your personal security force in a place where I assume you participate in the generation of large profits derived from plying many, many people with alcohol.

This still doesn't excuse your disturbing "bear" bullshit.

And you still dont get the metaphor. And for the record Im a motel manager, not a hotel manager. People come here drunk, we dont serve or provide alcohol so you assume wrong. We just happen to be on Hindley Street in the middle of the Adelaide CBD - seconds from the pubs, strip joints, tattoo parlours and everything else that makes the west end of the city the hell hole that it is.

We also deal with Domestic Violence and Homeless Gateway accomodation, as well as other Crisis Care and Emergency housing.

On any given night on a weekend, Ill be turfing out - or having the police do it - any number of drunkards, or violent morons, or having to get someone here to sort out domestic disputes or people just generally trashing the place. You've got no idea, so spare me the lectures.

Th police are my personal security force. Its what I pay taxes for. If they cant make me feel secure then we may as well hav anarchy.

1) Ply people with booze.
2) Ring the "bears" on them to deal with the outcome.

You're a real human being mate.

which part of we dont serve or provide alcohol did you miss. We run accomodation here and thats it.

Since you posted while I was editing heres our role:

Not only do we cater to tourists and general accommodation requests. We also deal with Domestic Violence and Homeless Gateway accomodation, as well as other Crisis Care and Emergency housing.

WTF? He just told you he doesn't sell booze so don't make false claims about him.

It doesn't matter if he is or isn't selling booze. He shouldn't set wild animals after anyone. Bears are really dangerous. I just google'd bears. Hmmm What type of bear are we talking about?

Here's what happens in an industry full of dumb arses and sociopaths:

Greg Davies makes Andrew Bolt look like a considered intellectual.

"While it can be difficult at times to differentiate between a lawful instruction or order within a body like a police force and workplace bullying, clearly it is more prevalent than we would like to see," Mr Davies said.

The only time he isn't spinning bullshit is when he has his mouth shut.

About a week ago there was also some cops who accused a guy of assaulting them on a bus. Video footage shows they were lying and they in fact assaulted the man. I will try to find it.

Here it is:

The last 3 incident have been in the last week. Same shit over and over and over again. Somehow people think our police are doing good jobs and should not come under scrutiny or criticism. wtf?

I didn't read the article as I was searching for the bus incident. Despite what Davies says, I know bullying as well as discrimination against women is rife in our police forces.

The nanny staters are prepared to tolerate this bullshit.

They are the foot soldiers of tyranny.

He got off. There would have been pressure asserted on a lot of people to make this go away.

What a ****en joke!

Then they bleat about how people don't respect the law.

They are a law unto themselves.

They really need to ban the use of tasers, alternately require all officers to have personal CCTV cams when making an arrest and heavily punish any misuse.

The second I can't see happening so the first is the most logical.

I know somebody who was assaulted by police when pulled over. Late nigh drive home from a girlfriends place, in the middle of winter in his bed clothes. Got pulled over in the pouring rain and asked to get out of the car. After complying despite having broken no road rules, they still would not let him get out of the rain and one of the officers got up in his face abusing him. He made the mistake of trying to shield himself and copped a bit of a hiding then got charged for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

Was convicted on their testimony alone, thank heck at that time in WA the mandatory sentencing laws weren't in effect.

Ex-cop 'held gun to rape victims'

Nino Bucci
July 7, 2012

A FORMER Victoria Police officer allegedly held a gun to the heads of two children he had r*ped and gave Kit Kat chocolate bars to another after abusing him.

The 62-year-old, who cannot be named, allegedly committed 39 child sex offences in Victoria during the 1960s and '70s. It is alleged some of the crimes occurred while he was on duty.

The man, who now lives in New South Wales, faces charges relating to nine boys and girls aged between five and 14, including several counts of rape, indecent assault and gross indecency. He was aged between 18 and 35 during the alleged offending, police said.

Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg heard the man had locked a victim in a divisional van and another in a police cell before sexually abusing them.

One boy who was allegedly abused in a shed after attending the man's house for a swim was told it would be ''their little secret''. A girl was allegedly r*ped while the man held his police revolver to her head, while a boy was threatened with a semi-automatic rifle.

Mr Rozencwajg decided to hear the rest of the man's bail application on Tuesday, when more was known about child pornography and computer equipment seized from his house during his arrest on Wednesday. Hayden Rattray, representing the man, said the defendant should be bailed until the analysis of a computer, memory stick, photographs and DVDs was completed by NSW Police. He said the seized material may not be illegal.

Detective Senior Constable Peter Reed said the man was the subject of an ongoing investigation. The man resigned from Victoria Police in 1979. Detective Senior Constable Reed said the man could endanger the community if bailed and was a flight risk.

Headline is misleading. It was a "cop" who did this, not an "ex-cop"

Don't give the police a reason to, and you wont have any trouble.
Not everyone is straight laced pin dick like you. Some people get drunk and act like idiots. Doesn't mean the police have carte blanche to assault them. Some people are criminals. Also doesn't mean police have carte blanche to assault them either. We have a legal system with lawyers, judges, juries, and courts. Police are there to pre empt, identify, and stop crime. Brutality is not part of their job description.

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Any of you cop lovers want to explain this one:

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/damning-video-shows-officers-assaulting-prisoner-20120809-23wg5.html

How you can consciously support the police after this violence happens again and again and again is beyond me. You are all quick to sneer at the criminals (and sometimes not even) but you convenient ignore that the very people who are meant to uphold the law are going to court and lying under oath about their actions. Some of you are so short sighted you see one group of liars as not okay and the other group of violent liars as okay just because they wear a blue uniform.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves.
